Brandy is excited about her new album, which drops next week…
It’s been nearly four years since fans heard any new music from Brandy, but now, as she gears up for the release of a new album next week, she reveals that it wasn’t easy to get back into the studio. In fact, she was a little nervous.
Brandy told Billboard.com recently that after all the drama she endured when she made headlines for a car accident that ended with the other driver dying, music was her release.
“Once you get into a zone, it’s hard to come out,” said the singer. “What I experienced in the past couple of years was tough, but I had to face it and find the strength to move forward. Connecting back with music has definitely helped me through everything. Once I got back in the studio, the butterflies went away.”
According to Brandy, she had been keeping a daily journal, and as she began to become more aware of her feelings, it helped inspire her new lyrics.
“Getting in touch with how I felt made me want to sing about it,” Brandy says. “This entire album is about life and what we all experience — that we’re not alone and sometimes need to be uplifted
With all the sh*t Brandy’s been through in the past few years, she definitely had enough material to choose from to make a decent album. I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Who’s checking for Brandy’s new joint?
