Actor Anthony Mackie To Star in ‘Captain America’ Sequel

Anthony Mackie is setting the Hollyweird movie scene on fire and showing no signs of slowing down.

After snagging a starring role in the summer blockbuster film “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” the 8 Mile actor has landed yet another starring role in the upcoming Captain America Sequel.

Anthony Mackie is expected to star in a sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger called Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the subtitle suggests a respected comic book storyline from the 2000s that resurrected Captain America’s sidekick Bucky as a brainwashed super-assassin known as the Winter Solider.

While Marvel would not comment nor divulge character details, it is believed that Mackie will portray the Falcon, one of mainstream comics’ first black superheroes and perhaps its first American one. Mackie will play Falcon who is one of Marvel comics’ first black superheros.

We think Mr. Mackie would make a fine superhero. Congrats to him!
