On the heels of the news that William Balfour was denied bail, Jennifer Hudson has received even more good news:
Jennifer Hudson, who’s been grieving the deaths of her mother, brother and nephew, offered up thanks and gratitude on Thursday for her four Grammy nominations for her debut album.
“It’s been a childhood dream of mine to release an album, so to receive 4 Grammy nominations is truly a blessing,” Hudson, 27, said. “I’m extremely honored and humbled by the nominations.”
After everything she’s been through, it’s safe to say that Jennifer deserves some good news for a change. Kudos to her on the nominations.

Our thoughts and prayers have been with Jennifer since the tragic events. It is my sincere hope that through her faith in God and the support of her remaining family, friends, fans and supporters she will find closure. The holiday season is an especially difficult time to deal with the loss of someone so dear to you and her grief is magnified by three. While the grammy nominations and the arrest of the suspect may be good news, it could be bitter-sweet for her. Please continue to keep Jennifer and her sister uplifted in your prayers. They need them now more than ever! God Bless.

those are pitty nominations because her album sales were mediocore AT BEST and there hasn’t been any real promotional nothing for her album which was because of her family’s untimely death not saying she should have been promoting at a time like that, but this is why the grammy’s have no real weight to me with the winners and loosers and the awards show itself has fallen off. who even watches it?
I’m so happy for her..It was worth the wait because the entire album is a hit.

Grammy nominations are not based on sales (it is not a popularity contest). The nominations are based on artistry, musicianship, innovativeness, etc. While her album sales might have been mediocre, JHud is a BEAST vocally, and one would be hard pressed to find many other R&B artists who can challenge her voice. I am glad the Academy is recognizing REAL talent.
And, by the way, people have never heard of half the people who win Grammy’s anyway. They are constantly honoring obsure artists.

I’m happy for her and she really deserves those nominations because her album is good. I don’t think they are pity nominations at all. People need to understand that the Grammy’s are not solely based on album sales because otherwise ALicia KEys would’ve just taken nearly every R&B and Pop category for her album sales.

Just remeber that they are in heaven looking down on you smiling along with the lord you serve. Good for the Grammy’s for recognizing real talent. JHuds’ album is good and some songs sound very creative. Her voice is amazing….ppplleeaa*****ee. I mean people are use to hearing non-singers that the real singers never get their props.

She has come so far from her Idol and Burger King days but yet she still seems so humble and always thankful.

Everyone knows that for an TRUE R&B singer, you can tell the difference between some “singing” and someone “singing away their pain.” There is a song that Jennifer sang at the funeral (I think) Wherever it was, I’m PRAYING they end up recording it because I’m telling you her voice is awesome and her range is just phenominal!!!
