According to Livesteez, old lady Walters, decided to do the obvious and name Barack as the most Fascinating Person in 2008:
Barbara Walters unveiled her list of the year’s 10 most fascinating people Thursday night, and the list includes two major film stars, an athlete, and a broadcaster In the 16th edition of her ABC special “Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2008,” Barack Obama was named the most fascinating person of the year for making history as the first African-American elected president. Taking the No. 2 spot was film star Tom Cruise, who opened up about his upcoming movie ‘Valkyrie’ and the buzz surrounding his big new role, according to Entertainment Tonight. GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin made the list at No. 3. Though Palin did not chat with Walters, The View co-host said Palin fascinated the public as she went from white-hot star to a tarnished disappointment. Her next job, which remains to be seen, will surely be closely followed, Walters said. Actor Frank Langella came in at No. 4 on the list for his body of work, and especially for his upcoming role playing President Nixon in ‘Nixon/Frost,’ — a role Walters says will likely earn him an Academy Award.
Big surprise there, Walters. You sort of threw us for a loop. We could have sworn Paris “Ho” Hilton would have beaten him out. SMH

Watched it and I knew it could be no one else but him yet her wordplay and when she said “Good luck, Mr. President” I teared up. Its just a month of beautifull-ness man!! I know that isnt a word but I cant find one to discribe how I feel when I see our new first family. I also liked Will Smith too because he always is himself and challenges himself not only to be the best movie star but the best man. That what everyone should strive to do. Not just be the best at an occupation or the best friend to your “boys/girls” but to be the best husband/wife, best parent, best sibling, etc.
Barbara Walters made a good choice..who else would it be?

I thought Barbara had the sense of humor of a wet dishrag unitl I saw her with Tina Fey yucking it up. Her itnerview with Will made me mad. She kept givign him the gas face, especially when he said he could be president. One, he’s been saying that before we even heard of Obama. Two, America loves an actor (Schwartzenegger, Reagan, Fred Thompson, etc) and they sure love Will so the idea is not far fetched. She had the “Ain’t this an uppity n” look on her face the whole interview, like he was not giving her enough deference. I can’t feel Barbara Walters at all. Not AT ALL. Sincerely, Betta not say nothin bad about my man Will!
And rightfully so! Patricia, I understand, but realize Barbara has had a mandigga up in her, she appreciates all parts of a fine African American man, especially the lower extremities. Oh, and so does Will LOL. Just kidding!
