Dad Helps Police Catch A Sexual Predator Preying On His Daughter Through ‘Sexts’

Parents, you have to be aware of what your children are doing online:

An alert father was able to help catch a man accused of sex crimes against a 14-year-old girl, according to police. Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department told WAVY.com the father of the teen contacted officers on March 21 about his daughter receiving and sending sexual text messages.

Further investigation showed the teen had inappropriate sexual contact in a wooded area with Timmie Tennell Williams, 25, Thurston said. Officers reportedly learned the pair met online. Warrants were issued for Williams’ arrest for charges of using a computer to commit sex offenses with a minor, attempting to commit a felony, carnal knowledge of a child ages 13 to 14-years-old and indecent liberties with a child under the age of 15.

Williams was arrested at his home Saturday evening.
