This is just disturbing…

Movie Massacre Murderer Generates “Fan Club”

The heartless scumbag responsible for the death of 12 innocent movie-goers, including a 6-year-old child, reportedly has a fan club full of young girls. The fan club began with a facebook page and now exists on Tumblr.

Though the reasons aren’t entirely clear yet, a much maligned Facebook fan page dedicated to accused Aurora, Colo. shooter James Holmes no longer appears to exist.

Reports CNN, the fan page for this “Public Figure,” simply titled “James Holmes,” first appeared on July 20, the same day that Holmes allegedly killed 12 people and wounded dozens of others in movie theater screening The Dark Knight Rises.

The page, prior to its disappearance, read as if written by James Holmes himself and featured disturbing jokes.

One, modeled after a Jay-Z song, read, “If you like batman, I feel bad for you son. I’d kill 99 people and a baby is one.”

Another post of the page featured a photo of two distracted moviegoers telling other noisy attendees to quiet down, saying, “If you don’t shut up, we’ll James Holmes your ass.”

Since its inception, the page has gained a fair amount of (overwhelmingly negative) attention from both media outlets and Facebook commenters. KCNC in Denver reports that on July 23, only three days after the shooting, the page had racked up nearly 450 Likes and that the anonymous author “posted a note that says the page has been reported numerous times to Facebook and ‘nothing has happened.'”

By July 26, the page had 800 Likes, according to CNN.

Though the Facebook fan page for the mass murderer has since been taken down, there appears to be another fan page that is still alive and well on Tumblr, which features young people  who call themselves “Holmies”wearing plaid, drinking slurpees and even organizing a letter-writing campaign in honor of the crazed killer.

BuzzFeed’s Ryan Broderick has unearthed a small group of “Holmies,” die-hard James Holmes fans who gush supposed love for the alleged killer on Tumblr like he was a teenage vampire. Not just that: Holmies are fixated on every minute detail of Holmes’, from the plaid shirt Holmes was caught in to his bright-red hair, to the few childhood photos that have surfaced.

Holmies post pictures of themselves drinking Slurpees, inspired by a video of an 18-year-old Holmes that shows he’s a Slurpee fan; they pass around instructions for sending letters to Holmes in jail; there is the requisite bad anime-style fan art (“hugs for holmies!”).

Where are these girls’ parents? Absolutely ridiculous. See the absurd “letter writing campaign” for this nutcase on the flip.
