New York Man Dragged 4 Miles By Ex-Girlfriend’s New Boyfriend
A Hoosick Falls, N.Y., man was busted for driving his pickup truck for several miles as his girlfriend’s ex-beau hung from its back end, the Albany Times Union reported.
The bizarre ride was captured in a 911 call made by Robert Kowalik as he was hauled behind the truck through the streets of Troy, N.Y.
“AHHHHHHH!” he screams at one point during the lengthy call. “He ran over my leg. He ran over my leg! … Please hurry. This ain’t a joke.”
Kowalik delivered a high-decible travelogue to the 911 operator, describing local landmarks — the car wash, the water tower, the Wal-Mart — as he was dragged behind the vehicle.
“I got hit by a white truck — ow, ow, OW!” he howled at one point during the Sunday afternoon trip.
“They’re killing me!”
Kowalik suffered cuts, bruises and other injuries during his non-joyride.
Cops arrested Seth Scudds, 45, who was at the wheel of the white Ford pickup as Kowalik hung from its rear. He was charged with assault and misdemeanor reckless endangerment.
What the hell could have angered this guy so much that he decided to drag ol’ boy? Oh yeah, a woman…
Scudds is dating Kowalik’s ex-girlfriend, which caused some of the initial friction between the men outside a Troy convenience store, cops said.
But Kowalik was also irate over a gym backpack containing medication that was left inside the truck.
“I want my pills! I want my pills!” he howled repeatedly at the start of the 911 call before Scudds drove off.
Troy Police Capt. John Co0ney told the newspaper that Kowalik bore some responsibility for what happened and could faces charges himself.
Sounds like Mr. Kowalik had a terrible day, what a drag…
