South Boston Pastor Arrested For Distributing Child Sex Pictures

A pastor working at a South Boston church entered a guilty plea Wednesday to charges of possessing and distributing child pornography.

Reverend Andrzej Urbaniak, a pastor at the largely Polish-American church Our Lady of Czestochowa for four years, has been jailed and suspended because of what investigators say they found on a church computer.

Investigators say they found pictures of girls who looked eight to 10 years old on a computer in the rectory.

Parishioners and non-parishioners share the pain.

“Shocking…in a word, shocking. Hearing him from the pulpit and listening to him and then find out something like this,” Allan Ramusiewicz, Our Lady of Czestochowa.

“I’m just at a loss for words,” said Randy Crehan, a parishioner at another church.

Prosecutors say pastor Urbaniak was caught up in a sweep by state police investigating computer networks where people trade files labeled “pre-teen,” “pedophilia,” and “Lolita.”
