The more Kanye speak the more I like him. Why does he have to be off his rocker? He is seriously interested in being a designer, so much so he would humble himself to be an intern so he can learn. He is known as being so arrogant, but this is the most humble thing I have ever seen an entertainer do. I am impressed.

I don’t see why people are bugging that he wants to be an intern.
The man is on top right now, sometimes you have to humble yourself to have a better perspective.

Sure he can recruit his own people, or other designers like 50 did with Mark Ecko, but why?

Maybe get a top designer and stitch his name on the labels… yeah, thats original.

The man is all about his vision, and he is taking a grassroots approach.

I commend him.
I encourage everyone who has made it anywhere to always consider reassessing the basics.

Just because you make a lot of money, doesn’t mean you can’t hone your other skills. Then you turn your new ‘hobby’, into more $. I’m not mad at Kanye, at all, very smart brother..I hope he finds someone to settle down with. He always looks so lonely. In a room full of crowded people- fans, groupies, etc. and the loneliest man in the world. Ever since his mom passed, he never really seems happy, anymore…..

I know what that is, you have to find something else that makes you happy. Especially, when you lose your best friend. Wishes of continued success, whatever path you might take….

On another note… this makes me want to consider an internship at something completely random.

People are so programmed and ‘get that money’ that life passes by.

Random: maybe you can do something random and help someone get a coat this winter?

The decision to be an intern first before fully launching a clothing line seems very logical. I wish all the other “superstars” who decided to launch clothing lines made the decision to first learn the trade and fashion design before they launched their dollar store designs.. i.e. “j=Lo, or “fetish”.
But although I think it’s a good strategy before entering the design industry i have a hard time picturing Kanye as a regular intern because in every internship I have ever had… they give you bullsh&t busy work all the time and rarely value your opinion. I just don’t see Kanye taking very kindly to that..lol. No offense, but I get the impression if he’s not the boss.. all is lost. (you like that rhyme.. I’m gonna intern with a rapper to perfect my craft).. CHEA!!!

People forget he was in college for drawing. This dude can draw. I can’t remember what show it was, but his mom was on there showing some the art pieces he’s drawn over the years. And the work was good.

If ‘Ye wants to take a minute off (which I think he should) to do something else in the creative field, he can and should take advantage of every opportunity.

But if he designed a classy clothing line for women.. that doesn’t have rhinestones everywhere, or metallic graphic t-shirts and all that stupid crap that all the other lines have (i.e. house of dereon, baby phat) then I’d buy it. I love his style… some of it I wouldn’t put together all at the same time.. but he always looks pretty fresh. He gave rappers permission to use their imagination when they dress… some of them haven’t quite grasped it yet but.. they try.

I adore Kanye, but at times he should STFU! I read his blog the other day…he posted an article from his Fader magazine. Basically he alluded to the ‘fact’ that he is different and the other kids didn’t work as hard as he did. People kill me thinking that they’re above others because of money. Money buys things and attracts people, but if we look at people like Michael Jackson and Howard Hughes, we’d also know that it doesn’t make you humble nor kind.

i know i’m late, but i dont understand why wanting to seek out a new field (which could possibly lead to more personal growth and fulfillment) is such a wierd or off-beat thing. he’s just fortunate enough to be able to do so, while most people can’t afford the luxury of choosing their own path…but u shouldn’t hate on someone who can..and will..and does. u never know- he just might be paving the way for others down the line..

Ok let me recap the situation…He’s an artist..which means he’s creative and we like that, right? he states he wants to pursue another creative pursuit, which is also interesting to him. He wants to do it the RIGHT way but, educating himself. Why O’ Why is he being knocked for that? We should embrace this guy man! creative, UNAFRAID to do things his own way.. and wants to do it by opening himself up and educating himself even further.. Great for you! We need for people like this!
