I understand that a “boy friend” was called in or taken in for questioning. Don’t know if charges have been filed yet. I’m in Indianapolis. It’s rare for a missing Black woman to get attention. They all should. Ms. Franklin did, I believe because of her family’s efforts, etc. And the media did what they should always do. As for the rest of us, it’s natural to feel sadness when we hear this kind of news. I hate that this happened! All I had to hear on CNN was that a Black woman was missing. Then, to hear the details made me feel even worse. I hope the bastard is caught soon!

This story has broken my heart. Not only is this the way my mom lost her life (if reports are confirmed that she was killed by an ex-boyfriend), it hits too close to home. I work at UIC near where she lived. I shop at River Oaks and have dined at that very restaurant before. I even used to work at Leo Burnett years ago. This very well could have been me or any of my female friends. And all of us, male or female, black or white, can identify with meeting someone that might not know how to accept a break-up or who is so obsessive and insecure that they have to be violent to make their point. The guy who left the threatening messages is probably a charming, attractive sociopath, and if he had anything to do with Nailah’s disappearance or death, you can be certain someone will step forward with enough information to have him arrested. I am praying for swift justice and love to her family during this devastating time of grief. May God rest Nailah’s soul, and may we all learn something from her untimely, tragic death.

Agreed with Monk, about time the media gave attention to missing women of color as they do white women.

even sadder than this story is that everything on this site, no matter how far off the subject, eventually gets into some kind of racial discussion about how terrible white people are and how ‘oppressed’ black people are, all while typing on your new computer at a well paying job. S.M.W.H…
