According to Livesteez, it looks like Oprah’s declaring yet another war on blubber:

Oprah Winfrey confesses that she now weighs 200 pounds and has “fallen off the wagon, in the January’s O magazine. “I’m mad at myself,” writes Winfrey, 54. “I’m embarrassed. I can’t believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I’m still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, ‘How did I let this happen again?’”

Winfrey, 54, says she has struggled with an out-of-balance thyroid and the condition made her develop “a fear of working out.” The “queen of daytime talk” confessed that she’s packed on 40 pounds since she weighed 160 pounds in 2006, according to The Associated Press. “Yes, you’re adding correctly; that means the dreaded 2-0-0,” Winfrey says. “I was so frustrated I started eating whatever I wanted – and that’s never good.”

She says she hit rock bottom earlier this year when she wanted to skip an April 26 taping with Cher and Tina Turner in Las Vegas because she felt like “a fat cow.”I wanted to disappear,” says Winfrey, who has famously yo-yoed over the years, once weighing as many as 237 pounds. She goes on to say that her goal now isn’t to be thin; she just wants to be healthy. So she is launching the “Best Life Week,” beginning Jan. 5 on her talk show.

Winfrey’s weight and height put her body mass index at 31.8, which is obese, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the AP reports. “I definitely wasn’t setting an example,” Winfrey writes in her article. “I was talking the talk, but I wasn’t walking the walk. And that was very disappointing to me.”

What does she expect? A Billi buys a whole hell of a lot of cheeseburgers. Perhaps its time for the talk show Queen to consider more a more serious approach….

  • Nyah Molineaux

Oprah look good whatever weight she is at. However, weight loss is a struggle.

  • da darkness

Mrs. Obama better watch out pretzels vs. a hungry chic never had a chance. Pack on them pounds ms. lady, get them titties heafty, and more booty meat with the crease underneath, It’s show time and Oprah is gonna show us how to get it done. Nothing wrong with that. That’s what the older Black women are with no diabeties.

  • Oshie – TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY I DO ACCEPT CASH GIFTS

She said before she likes carbs. I believe it.

  • Tealeaf

I hope she gets back on track..

  • bigmike

I would still hit from the back!!!

  • BB

There’s no connection to being obese and healthy at the same time, especially when age is a factor. It put’s you at risk for issues liek hypertension, diabetes, heart disease etc.

We can’t all be slim, but we can all be mindfull of the BS that passes our lips. McDonalds should be a “once-in-while” treat not a staple.

So many people in my family that have passed on, might still be here today if they made better dietary decisions.

    @Nikki Underwood

    LMAO!!!!

I wonder if she feels like she has “man hands.” I would be embarrassed to have those.

But when you have money, things like that doesn’t matter…lucky bastard.

  • JK

Everyone is not meant to be small. Just hope she is healthy.

  • pm

    you can’t fight genetics O

  • Baby Girl

  • shavondenise

People kill me acting like everyone has to be a certain weight. Oprah was insecure whether she was 200lbs or 160lbs. Just get healthy and doesnt mean being 150. All these guys out here that look like houses and Oprah’s calling herself a cow while they’re order their cheese steaks right now.

Weight management is a lifelong struggle for many people. You have to admire her determination to get back to a healthier weight. It’s true, that will reduce the risk of many chronic diseases and conditions, including diabetes. By itself, elevated blood sugar is a significant health challenge but its complications can lead to increased risks for catastrophic health events. Gum disease, for example, interacts with diabetes to worsen blood sugar control and increase risk of heart attack, stroke, blindness . . . the list goes on. Fortunately, routine dental therapy can reduce blood sugar and even reverse gum damage. We write about this extensively at http://dentistryfordiabetics.com/blog.

  • Mrs. Rance

It happens O. Contrary to what people say, we ain’t all meant to be small. O is meant to be thick and that’s that.

  • richie

So wait, does she empower women to love themselves as they are (like on her show) or does she perpetuate the same body-hatred that society has against bigger women?

    Oprah, you say what?

  • Opie Taylor

No surprise, really. Most women of African American Descent has this flaw – Lack of will power, discipline and that middle-aged fat gene – Some more than others. Learn to pull away from the All You Can Eat Buffet, Ladies.

  • AzzedineAliaFan

I’m with you literally it’s a killer, trying to be thin/attractive, i go through the same things as she and Janet do with regards to yo-yo dieting, but we’ll prevail!!!!!!!!

  • pm

gone pull a Star Jones and have one of those 3 stomachs stapled.

  • mzsweetface

Oprah really shouldn’t beat herself up, she’s human. She knows what to do so i’m sure she will get it together. Besides its holiday time. May as well eat good now and start over in the new year.

  • mzsweetface

And I hope she doesn’t resort to surgery. I will respect her more if she just works it off as she has in the past. Besides it would be horrible if she had some bad side effect from it. The press would never leave her alone about it.

  • Vee

Its a shame because genetics do play a part: I saw her Momma and she ain’t no size 2. I feel bad for Oprah because her weight looks good on her–we ain’t all meant to be small. But I think she worries so much because her weight is the only issue she has that the media can speak negatively about. Cuz besides having a lil extra cushion she’s a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad chick!! Billionaire status-take that!!

  • Whut??

I’m so tired of this woman whining about her weight. From her first show until now it’s been an issue. Rich people that whine are worse. And NO, she isn’t inspiring anyone at this point to go on a diet just because she is talking about her struggles in public AGAIN. She is talking about it because she knows the press is following her looking for an unflattering picture.

Apparently she has learned nothing from all her trips to Africa where EVERYONE would trade places with her – fat a$$ and all.

Get a grip, hire another personal chef, personal trainer, and new stylist…and put a guard at your kitchen door!

You can afford the tools to succeed!

  • capt’n backslap

i’ve always liked thicker O. She would get it…

  • and what…?

    I’m with Lyonna…
So what if she gains weight….As long as she’s healthy, which I believe she is, who cares…..Not everybody was born to be slim….At least she’s not sloppy looking…..

  • and what…?

i think she actually looks better with more meat on her!

  • OooLaLa

Oprah looks great no matter what her weight is. It’s her generosity, and good heart that we love most about her, and that makes her BEAUTIFUL. We just want her to be healthy.

  • da darkness

    like plump titties

  • Asada

let oprah be, she’s worth more than you anyway…

  • Fangbanger aka Sookie

    it’s a struggle.
    plus, you can’t fight genetics.

    it’s cliche but true, it’s not what you’re eating, it’s what’s eating you… she’s probably an emotional/stress based eater.

money doesn’t always equate with happiness.

  • NYC Gal

We all have our own struggles and Oprah’s is her weight. Unfortunately for Oprah, we see her struggles everyday. I had notice that she was getting bigger but I’m happy she acknowledge it. Just keep trying Oprah! Stop dieting and just focus on eating healtier foods and working out!

  • Mr. FAMU

My heart goes out to Oprah. One thing she demands of herself is transparency when it comes to her viewers and for her to feel like she let them down becuz she was being HUMAN and had a few snacks really pains me to hear. Its ok Oprah you are a superwoman but you can not do that 100% of the time. Just love yourself and know that you are a great person and we all fall to temptation be it sex, drugs, food, stealing.

I cant wait for her “Best Life Week” to come in january!

  • Slide Like A Fresh Pair of Gators (Keepin’ It Real – D’Original)

She’s working hard and it’s paying off = financially that is, and when you got as much money as she has she’ll be alright = she’s been busy building her empire that’s all…

When she was working out REAL hard a few years back, she was LOOKING GOOD!!!

She’ll be alright, she’s got the money for the best fitness trainers in the world and cooks to cook up some nutritious meals – I know she can handle this little thing but at the same time…

What’s having all the money in the world if you can’t enjoy it cause you don’t have good health (*cause your obese)?

Good Luck and get back into the gym and start eating right Oprah – we need you around you’re good people and inspire lots of us = ownership, showing us what excellence looks like, etc…

  • Redemption

Oprah looks very healthy. Why should she have to come out with bionic arms and an 8 pack? It’s crazy that Oprah or any healthy looking woman has to endure criticism and provide detailed explanation of why she gained weight, all while putting herself at a low for her implied “careless actions”. Image is really a product built by the media and our beautiful women shouldn’t feel like we have to be 110 lbs or less. Beauty comes bigger, it needs real strength behind it.

  • WORKINGHARD ATIT

BIGGEST LOSER IS ACCEPTING APPLICANTS! SHE IS NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY AVERAGE JOE GAINING LOSING. DO YOUR THING, CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR TO DETERMINE WHAT “HEALTHY” MEANS FOR YOU!!! YOU GO GIRL

  • sugar&spice

I have no sympathy for her whatsoever because she has plenty of resources to keep the weight off, so she needs to stop with the excuses.smh

  • everydayjane

Weight control is a battle (period) That skirt and belt is hawt! We bloggin’ – she’s makin billions…

  • http://www.j.com noelle

she just needs to work out! thats all:)

  • http://www.myspace.com/chickletl2 denne

i wonder if she wore her hair all fro-ey so that people might just mistake her for jill scott… or a pregnant lauryn hill.

lolat the cheeseburgers… i always say that when i start having money i’m gonna get mad fat. it’s gonna be lobster and butter sauce all the time. cheddar bay biscuits, bacon and all the nachos i could ever want. the only way for me to be rich AND skinny is to not have a job so i can eat and work out all day.

  • Meeko From Detroit (Born And Raised In The City Of Wolves)

Opie Winfrey been a big girl ever since she started. Oprah embrace the big girl in you because you still look smoking hot (smile)

  • Politicker

    I love you Oprah, lol!

That lady stays real…and there is nothing more real than a big ol’ lady!

  • 7lady

why she keep puttin herself through this mess i dont know! she look fine just as she is. the good thing bout oprah is that she got a waist. so she jus look full and vuluptuous. jus try and maintain this 200. dont go over that. it aint meant for her to be small. she dont even look right small.

  • Tori

Well she knew when she stopped working out and eating wahtever she wanted that she would gain the weight back.

When you have a tendency to put on weight you have to work out at least 3 times a week to stay fit.

  • Sucker Free

i agree, she looks better being a lil’ rotund. When she was a size 10 she did not look right in the face and neck area, like Star Jones.

billionaires have problems too. it’s not what you eat, its what’s eating you…REAL TALK

  • deafjam04

I think she looks better with weight. Oprah is a beautiful black woman and her weight is not thaat big. Just goes to show you that having money doesn’t make it easier to loose the weight. Gotta have that dicispline and plus it’s harder as you get older.

  • nicaw

I commend Oprah for bringing this up instead of avoiding it. I don’t really see that it is a big deal but I’m not Oprah. I think the more we make weight an issue the more it is and than people choose choices that aren’t healthy.

I think she should give herself a break and just focus on being healthy both physically and especially emotionally.

  • Tanya

Oprah still looks great but I think she is bigger than 200…

  • AceDoorSlave

I’d tap that. From the front, the back, if she wants to wear spurs, if she wants Barack and Michelle to watch, with pudding, and cream of wheat. I’d beat that Billionaire poonany to sleep!

  • AceDoorSlave

    Don’t sleep, Stedman, Don’t sleep.

  • playaplaya

man i still tap that her and condelisa. you can call that a superthreesom. the most riches and the most powerful black women in the world. i wounder if conde know how to ride?

  • Knottmyhair

she’ll get it off again….she has too much money for them cooks not to make a bagel taste like a chocolate chip cookie and not gain weight off of it….i think if she had a steady man in her life, the weight wouldnt be so hard to keep off.

  • Knottmyhair

some of ya’ll can be so dayum cruel!

  • elle

As long as O’s healthy, that’s all that matters. I think she looks better with weight on her anyway. True, 200 pounds is not the average weight for a person who’s 5’4″, but I’m sure she will lose it again. She looks good.
    “Billi!”

  • hit ‘em hard

might be big but that skirt is bangin’!!

  • Sepia830

    @It’s6am….lmao. Leave it to you.

I feel bad for Oprah that she has to constantly explain why she is overweight, etc… If I had her money I wouldn’t give a flyin’ f*ck what anybody else thinks. Hell, I don’t have her money and I could give a flyin’ f*ck…..

  • Brian’s Gurl

    give me a break!

this is what happens when you have pets for children. Now if she had a real man, she wouldn’t give a damn what she looked like at this point. 54 years old? give me a damn break!

my mom is a little older then her and she doesnt care what anyone thinks of her weight. Boo to Oprah

  • Big girls need love too!

Brian’s Girl, be nice. Oprah is like most American women. It’s hard, you fall in a rut, you get discourged, you need a reality check. Oprah, you’ll be fine, you’ve done it before and you’ll do it again….and so will I. Heres to Oprah!

  • blackgirl

Man I know how she feels. She looks good though. For people with a weight problem, it is just that. It is something you struggle with 24/7 like a drinking or drug problem. I cant understand anyone becoming a drunk….being unable to stop drinking..but there are those that cant understand how fat folks just cant stop eating. It is a struggle like anything else. Much luck to Oprah!

  • http://www.myspace.com/maliwoods Mali Woods

i think she looks beautiful – it’s not like she looks like sloppy mess – besides with the condition of the world it’s hard to stay on top of exercise and eating right – oprah’s heart = concern for the hard times that are on the horizon for majority of people probably is depressing – who can work out when they feel like that? i think she looks gorgeous for 54

She looks good this way. Have you ever seen Aretha Franklin complain about her weight and I think she is about 350 lbs. All Oprah need to do is exercise and eat a balanced nutritious meal and she will be alright.
