Tyra’s latest season of “ANTM” kicks off Friday night… but she’s still esplainin’ what happened to her homies!

Poor Tyra, she was just being a good lil Harvard student when her mean ol’ bosses called her and told her to give her friends their walking papers:

Tyra Banks got the call from TV execs to change the format of “America’s Next Top Model” while she was in class at Harvard Business School. “I got a note that said you need to get out of class and take this call. My boss said . . . there are no sacred cows, and you have to do some crazy changes. It was a mandate.” Page Six revealed in April that “ANTM” veteran co-stars J. Alexander, Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker were dumped to reinvigorate the long-running show. The new season debuts tonight on CW.

Do you believe Tyra really had no say so about saving her friends? We find it kind of suspect.

Still, we gotta admit we might not miss the Jay’s so much with that eye candy of a boo thang she’s got in Rob Evans.

Hit the flip for more shots of him flossin’ that bawwwwdy to promote “America’s Next Top Model”!
