When I get ready to interview someone and I can’t pronounce their name, I drop their resume in the trash. Yes, I know it’s ignorant, but so are their parents for naming them something stupid. Everyday I see names that make me cringe. Placenta, Emergency, Argasm, Vulva, Crustacea, Bridgidalpheniadelpia and the list goes on.

Uh. I’m Puerto Rican, which makes me Black by descent but NONE of my kids are nappy headed and they are ALL legit. It’s unintelligent font of that nature that is the REASON Blacks will never come together on the same plateau. I’m not mad at Usher, but I do think he could have made a MUCH better selection at choosing a wife and mother of his kids. I’m glad the baby is well, but that name, uh no.

Would you have had an issue if they named him Eric or Michael, no, why because they are European names therefore more acceptable. The majority of people who have a desire to work and prosper do, regardless of their names and with a Barack Obama in the White house, I am sure people are much more accepting of Unique names. Much respect to Usher for marrying a beautiful black sista, you know what surprises me, that many of my insecure sistas have a problem with this marriage. They say Tameka looks like a man and other hurtful things but what they don’t realize is that Tameka is a good representation of us. You can’t help who you fall for but Usher has never been on the white side, he is looking for a women who is just like his mother, thats why he has only dated black women (Naomi Campbell, Chili), he is a good black man with a good black women, I hope they have a blessed future and raise their kids together.

It has been the name of several Princes / Warriors of royal blood over the last 5000 years…May it carry its blessings to anyone who name their child Naveed. Amen
