WOW…didn’t see this one coming.
50 Cent Will Start A Boxing Promotion Company With Manny Pacquiao
In what has to be some of the strangest news out of the sport of boxing in some time, pound-for-pound great Manny Pacquiao and rapper 50 Cent will reportedly join forces to form their own promotional company, according to BoxingScene.com.
This news is shocking due to the fact that 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather were already involved in the promoting business with their TMT (the Money Team) Promotions that was announced in July.
TMT Promotions will now no longer exist according to the BoxingScene.com story now that 50 Cent has reportedly decided to pair up with Pacquiao.
Something that is just as shocking as “Pac-Man” and 50 Cent joining forces is that Floyd Mayweather was originally supposed to be involved with the two as well.
Pacquiao’s adviser, Michael Koncz, told BoxingScene.com:
50 Cent and I have been talking now for maybe the last two months. They approached us with the idea to form a promotional company. Initially it was going to be 50 Cent, Manny and Floyd. But right now I don’t think Floyd is going to be a part of it.
The new partnership may play a big role in finally landing the Pacquiao-Mayweather showdown, unless rumors of problems (per BoxingScene.com) between 50 Cent and Mayweather are true and are what’s behind the TMT split (per BoxingScene.com). If that’s the case then we may be just as far off from landing the super bout as we were before the new venture.
Hopefully this means we’ll get the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight sooner than later. On the other hand, how does Floyd Mayweather feel about is ex-BFF hooking up with his top rival??
