Laura Govan Talks All Things Basketball Wives L.A.
On social network-fueled boycotts of reality TV:
Laura Govan advises critics of the “Basketball Wives” franchise to lighten up.
“For people to boycott only brings more attention to the show. It is entertainment. Take it for what it is. Go into the urban communities to see what’s going on instead of trying to criticize us. It is what it is,” she told Uptown magazine.
“For me, it is entertainment. Don’t take it so seriously and literally,” she warned.
On the possibility of switching to Basketball Wives: Miami since her family has relocated there:
Though her family has relocated to Miami, Laura is still an official cast member of the L.A. version of the show. Despite the series originating in South Beach, she said she is not willing to jump ship.
“I am not a show hopper. I started in L.A., and that’s where I plan on staying. Me and my sister [Gloria Govan] pitched that show in L.A. I will always be there to support that show,” she insisted.
