Its always a little nerve-wrecking anti*****ting how Aretha may present herself…her determination to have her upper torso somewhat exposed is a little scary but she actually looks okay in these pics…I’ve seen much worse in the recent past.

what’s a shame is how some black folks like many of y’all who are posting have no comp*****ion for a human being with a weight issue. Aretha also a cultural icon and a woman who has meant and given so much so much to us, who has symbolized our greatness. if you don’t know, read a book or ask somebody about the free angela davis concert she did before some of you were born. Aretha Franklin is and will always be the one and only QUEEN OF SOUL!

She’s beautiful to me. She is the greatest singer that God has put on this earth. I’m so happy that she came from a time where people actually listen to people voices and wasn’t so concern what outfit they were wearing.

Ask yourself. When I buy a CD do I care if they got the best clothes on or do I care if they have the best voice? Some great lyrics and a killa arrangement?

The quality of her voice was never in question – I don’t think anyone could deny that there’s only one “Aretha”. She has though insisted on wearing attire that has done nothing but distract from that voice. As a very heavy woman she’s decided to either ignore the advice of those who care about how she appears in public or she actually believed that she didn’t look atrocious…in any case, she’s stepped up her game, and I for one am happy for her.
