Most of these celebrities who are married are going to have nice things. If you and your husband got married and made millions, hell, you would have a million dollar ring too! No, it does not signify any level or amount of love, but hell, why would a millionaire go out and purchase a 2 or 3 dollar ring?

When one overmarkets themselves, the public tends to get tired of them. Overexposure/overmarketing 10 times out 10 backfires. Like I said, Beyonce is successful, no one is denying her that. Beyonce has been “made” like over 7 years ago. I don’t hate for that. But c’mon, every album she puts out lately, there are like 2 good songs on it. Remember, she kept mum on her marriage? Now that she has movies and albums out, now she wants to talk about it. House of Dereon is hardly haute couture. Solange is a spoiled brat who feels entitled to fame (yeah I said it!)The Knowles clan is pushing Beyonce, they KNOW how to use the media to market their product (yes, Beyonce is a product at this point) When she first came out with DC, it was fresh, now her songs, moves have no originality to it. As for Bey being an icon, I’m sorry but at least to me she’s not. Internationally, she’s popular but a “legend” or even a “legend in the making” she’s not. IMHO

As for the ring, well I guess if you have the $$$ then why not. But someone on this board made an excellent point about old money vs. new money. Why couldn’t a simple diamond or gold band do? I know Bey is extraordinary but damn!

Another point, remember when Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton were like EVERYWHERE? Now they have gone into hermit-like existence. The Overexposure Graveyard. They still do things but they are not publicized as much…..

Makes no sense to me, as a thief (which I am not) I would rather steal the imitation version because it is less likely to be tracked and can be resold on the black market without much hassle. Jewelry can have a tremendous cash value– but it is a non- liquid nor interest producing asset so it does reduce your tax. really Beyonce is hot right now and she should take advantage of it. Madonna is not as talented and just as predictable and overexposure, damn!!! My brother told me the other day he’s been seeing Madonna’s ass so long he feels like they’re married. All the overexposure Brittney Spears has didn’t hurt her career one bit. So don’t think married or not she wouldn’t be making all the magazine covers Bey is hot. Now that being said, I don’t own one Bey album, no DC albums, but I did download Solange, I appreciate her originality and she’s a good songwriter. Every generation has a pop icon, that may last like in Madonna and Janets case, or fizzle out. Right now if you are a teenage black girl in particular Beyonce is it, she’s surpassed Britney in other racial circles. Will it last? who knows, but I betcha she won’t be fizzling anytime soon. I don’t understand why some people are criticizing buying such an expensive gem. It is their money. No one criticizes a man who buys a $5,000 ring with a $1500 a month income on a pay plan. Jay can afford it, he didn’t finance it, and it is ones personal choice that should not be criticized.

I’m sure it is insured so if it is stolen or lost it will be replaced.

Says who? Beyonce is more popular than ever. The stage is big enough for Beyonce and Rhianna. They are 2 different artist who should not be compared.

Lets not forget socially beyonce married beneath herself nothing to do with looks. She is from a middle class background he was frm bedstye. sold whatever on streets bla bla. Nothing to do with looks but i feel he was beneath but then again when you are in the industry as such who do you meet, she went for who was in her rank money wise which i guess is cool as long as he never gets out of line or mistreats her cause best believe she will be gone. Some ladies would have personally married out the industry a top doctor, a top lawyer but i guess she wants to be in the circle her choice, but best believe JAY must treat her right young dudes follow suit – treat a lady with respect you get respect back you dish out what you get – in return.

1. i don’t think Bey “married beneath” her when she married Jay. The dude is an awesome business man and seems to be quite intelligent. By beneath, maybe the person was talking about class-wise, but by the time they met, they were both adults and their careers had taken them a long way from Houston and Brooklyn.

2. Taylor Swift is selling well probably because she writes her own music.

3. Ring the Alarm was an angry song, so I think her lace front not only wrote the lyrics, it also yelled the “ring the alarm, I been through this too long” part…

4. Could care less about whether the marriage is real or fake, why she does or does not wear whichever ring. Although I’m not a fan, the girl works hard, so I’m sure she will always get what she deserves, but I would never want to trade places with her, innermocha, because I’m an educator and I look forward to my winter, spring and summer breaks. Plus I’ll still have a job even if I gain weight….
