Dang… A tree dies in BK! Such a blessing this woman didn’t. Hurricane Sandy is already starting to make her presence felt on the East Coast, and not in a good way.

According to NYDailyNews reports:

A Brooklyn woman was injured by a falling tree branch as Hurricane Sandy’s vicious winds picked up Monday morning.

Xiomara Montero, 56, was hit in the head by branches on Freeman St. in Greenpoint just after 10 a.m.

Montero, a teacher who works with adults with mental disabilities, was injured helping her neighbor remove equipment from his backyard shed that had been damaged by falling branches Sunday night.

“We were cleaning up,” said William DeJesus, 48.

“I heard cracking. I turned around and saw her on the ground. She was bleeding from her head and her mouth.”

Montero was knocked to the ground fleeing the four-story tall dead tree as the top broke off in the wind.

DeJesus and his wife called 911, then applied a towel to stop the bleeding.

Montero was taken to Bellevue Hospital with a cut to the head, officials said. She was treated and released Monday afternoon.

“It was scary,” DeJesus said.

“If she’d been hit by the whole trunk it would have been fatal.”

Thank God she wasn’t hurt more seriously. Get Well Soon Xiomara!

Folks please stay safe and inside… It’s way too easy for stuff like this to happen in these conditions.
