I am black and I go to a generally black school and they love Rihanna. I can’t tell you how many people have bought her album and got her songs as a ringtone. Sorry but Rihanna is not rock she is pop/rnb. She sings the same type of music as Justina Timberlake. Rehab is not a rock song sweety it is pop/rnb. Umbrella is a pop/rnb song. I saw Cadillac Records good informative movie, but watching Beyonce play Etta James was a poor imitation of a soulful/blues goddess— artist. Scene: Beyonce as Etta James strung out on the floor with a short kinky wig on her head looking like she was drunk not dope sick…bad acting at its best. Sorry but Mrs. Carter needs to spend some time in the ‘actors’ studio to work on playing ‘tragic’ characters. She was not convincing. I did learn a lot about Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry, Howlin’ Wolf and Chess records and I’m glad that Beyonce decided to give it the old college try. I think if she continues to work on her acting skills she will obtain the coveted oscar. And I agree Riri doesn’t have ANYTHING on Beyonce’s voice.
