From behind bars, Jones admitted to the shooting and a previous robbery, but said he doesn’t remember much because he said he smoked PCP before the crime spree. He said he does vaguely remember firing a gun after a brief struggle, though.
In the interview, Jones apologized to Morrow’s family and said he deserves the ultimate punishment.
“Man I should end up dead, sir. I don’t even want to be living no more, sir. I don’t want to be here, sir. I feel like I took this man’s life and my life should be tooken. That’s exactly how I feel, sir. That’s why I’m saying that on camera and everything. I’m not saying I will go back to my cell and hang myself. But I’m saying what I did was so f**ked up that the judge shouldn’t give me nothing but the death penalty and make it quick,” he said.
While Jones claimed he doesn’t remember specifics about the murder, he said a friend told him the next day what he had done the night before. Still, he didn’t turn himself in.
He was arrested based on tips investigators received.
Police also arrested 17-year-old Tierra Winters, who drove Jones away from the scene. She is also charged with capital murder.
