Coon of The Day: Rev. Jesse Lee

Posted by Bossip Staff

Check out the buffoonery this man puts on display by talking about being thankful for the slave trade and how Africa is a horrible continent. While America is the land of opportunity, we’d bet our reparations that slaves would not go through slavery again just to be here. SMH @ that coon.

Shout out to Jeff for the heads-up

Black people are thankful to the Lord Jesus Christ for setting us free. You dog’s tried to keep us in bondage. Now your ***** wish you had never brought us to America. If you had known one of us would be your President of the United States of America. The Last shall be first and first shall be last.

Uh, no… sickness and disease was UNHEARD of in Africa until u white folks brought it 2 the continent.

    I co sign 100%

If you look at some of the do*****entaries about native life, or African bush life, you see that these people are very happy. They want for nothing and have their ENTIRE family right there with them, no heart disease or mumps, chicken pox or anything… then that *****in Devil comes along and spreads all the disease from the the caucus mountain cave dwelling life the lived…. You stupid *****s no nothing about history from your replies…

  21. JK

I agree white people brought them damn diseases. Just like the brought them nasty ***** diseases to the Native Indians, and damn near killed over half of their race.

As for Wally Geroge Get the ***** Out, *****ody really cares about your ignorant comments. Reading your comments I can tell you are a bamma backwoods red-neck, with no education, that being eating mayo sandwiches, and *****ing his sister. I said it *****, now make it do what it do.

You already have a disease. You sick fool. Your mind is sick, you are sick, and you will constantly feel the pain.
Thats what cowards do. they feel the pain. Enjoy your sickness, ***** in tha booty a$$ fool.

  23. Mrs. Rance

I agree with him. I for one am happy not to be dodging bullets and AIDS in Africa. Big up to my ancestors for paying the price for me to be born American! I am forever in your debt. Looks like black folks like political correctness over honesty as much as white folks. Whatever.

  24. HF

    2DamTrill

Tru dat. What’s also worth mentioning is that Africa boasted civilizations ADVANCED in such areas as mathematics, medicine, and agriculture.

It’s almost 2 bad our ancestors spent their energies on positive development instead of making guns.

I think history would have been ENTIRELY different.

  25. Mrs. Rance

I don’t agree with how he minimized slavery. The price for our citizenship was beyond high, but at least we aren’t still swimming over here and floating on tires to this day like Mexicans, Hatians, Cubans and others that try to get into America often at the cost of their lives.

  26. JK

    @ Mrs. Rance
    _______________
I’m glad you said that. Cause honestly I would not want to live in a bush or have a forced cir*****cision. And the AIDS epidemic is no joke. Although many will come and post that the epidemic is a conspiracy theory. The rapes and the rebillion is out of control. Although I wish we could Blacks could have had their free choice to come to America, and I am not happy with the way it happended. I am glad to be in America.

  27. SG

Please do not support this man in his buffoonery..I am sick of thes ignorant black people making these idiotic comments.

Africa is in the state that it is in today because it was looted and plundered. There were civilizations that if they were not already ahead of the Europeans at that time, they were certainly on their way. Most of the civil wars are a direct result of Europeans carving up Africa based on their greed and ignoring the cultures that already existed.
People should fully know both sides of history before they go around shooting off their mouths in public.
Fact is, every country considered “Third World” or ” Developing”, is in that state because of colonization and being robbed of their natural resources(including human capital).

  28. Creole Baby Says Whitley ain't Creole but Denise Sho' Nuff Is

  29. BlackLADYDoctor

There is nothing smart about being knowningly IGNORANT.

The non-white and the white race have exp. famine disease, abuse, and poverty in this country and outside of this country. I had my ancestory traced on DNA.com…I only pay attention to MEN like Henry Louis Gates Jr. My family was already living in America. All African descendents were not brought to this country in chains, although many were during the middle p*****age.

I’m not entertained by self defeated bootlickers like Rev Lee who wouldn’t know history if it defecated on his face. There has always been a BLACK President in Africa, a woman President and a Black Woman President in Greece. What disguest me about men like Rev Jesse Lee is he actually has trashy followers who are sadistic self haters possible cutters, maybe both.

  30. Wally George

    JK & Mrs Rance

Dont you n*ggers know, you already have your mini AIDS epidemic in D.C.. All those coons will be dropping dead by the time that muslim terrorist obama will be getting voted out of the white house in 2012.

  31. JK

@ Wally George, you crackers are so uneducated. AIDS is real and serious and effects all races you unintelligent *****. Your natsy race started all the damn sexual diseases. Your people was *****ing horses that is how Syphilis started. Besides go make yourself a mayo sandwich and finish *****ing your sister. And try to stay off this site, although you amuse me to end. It does not cease to amaze me that crackers can be so uneducated.

  32. Sydney

Is this the guy who has appeared on Faux News (don’t watch it)? I’ve heard of him. . .

I found more of his previous comments, by the way:

On the October 20 edition of Clear Channel’s The Big Show with Bill Cunningham, guest Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson said of former Secretary of State Colin Powell’s endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama: “[H]e’s clearly for the color of the man and not the character.” Cunningham replied, “Great comments, and if Obama was white as chalk, do you think that Powell would be endorsing the Democrat? He didn’t endorse [Al] Gore, he didn’t endorse [Sen. John] Kerry. I think color trumps everything in his mind.” Peterson responded: “That’s right, because if it was about what Barack Obama stood for, then he would have endorsed Gore and all those guys, but he did not. You know, it’s so sad, my friend, that most black people today are racist. Not all, not all — but most of them are racist.”

Later in the discussion, Peterson said: “Most black people are — have a socialist mentality. They depend on the government, they don’t get married, most of them don’t work hard, they look to the government to take care of them, and if we allow the socialist Barack Obama to get in, our country would become that way, and we will be in real trouble.”

  34. Harold E

Wow…this just *****ed me off for the next 10 months!!!!!!!!!!! So let me get this straight. White man steal us from africa, makes us slaves….then tries to keep us slave but to our avail we break through so lets thank them ?????????????? Not to mention what white people did to Africa in the first place… Whoever agrees with him is an ignorant ***** ***** and needs to read a book. How is Africa top country in oil , fruit import and export, and daimonds, but isnt rich enough to buy medicine? u ignorant ***** coon y dont u thank all of europe for taking over africa, raping it and leavin scraps for those who actually live there..I should kick yo ***** . it’s coons like that y Europe and other countries will never give back what they stole. cuz of koon ***** *****s like u justifying them to themselves. How do we have the most daimonds and dont own a daimond company? How do we have all the gold and not a black gold company ceo…people like him need to be shot. He obviously thinks if the civil war didnt happen he’d be a free man….coon ***** negroid.

  35. Roe ski Love

Does any of you ignorant *****s realize that all of africa is not in famine. Also we were and are kings and queens in that country while being slaves here. Also God makes things happen not men. What about all of the Africans who are now coming to this country not as slaves but as citizens and making a way for themselves, hell what about the Mexicans, asians, slovaks, Russians, Jews etc. Does this *****hole also realize that slavery exist right now in most of the world. They just caught some rich people in Manhatten, NY. with two slaves that they had for like 10 years. Some people are really shallow with their doctrine, but yet share it like it’s word, but in reality its just their naivete and ignorance.

  36. JK

    @ Syndeny

If this guy stated all this, then he is out of control. I get so tired of hearing about black people taking advantage of the government. There are a lot of educated black people who actually do work hard and take care of their families. As for those who don’t they are not alone, hell Mexicans, Asians, and Whites along with other races take advantage of the government. They always act like we are the only race to do anything, they forget that we are still the minority in this country. So other races make up this percentage.

  37. Illuminate Truth

Why does that Dave Chapelle character, “the Black & Blind KKK guy” come to mind?

  41. JK

    @ Illuminate Truth
    Damn, LOL

  42. Sydney

    @JK

Oh, he said much more than that — That’s just an excerpt.

I can’t even react to this sort of asinine rhetoric. Obviously, he either does not have a full grasp of black history, he doesn’t care to, or he doesn’t respect it. Either way, he’s not worth the attention.

I suppose, we should all thank the slave owners for that cruise across the Atlantic called the Middle P*****age — The one during which thousands died from diseases and other ailments, or were killed (The film “Amistad” depicts the throwing of Africans into shark-infested waters), etc. We should thank the people who tore families apart, sold children away from their parents, men away from their wives, etc. We should be grateful that slaves were deprived of their culture, religion, language, identities, etc.

Yes, for all these great things, we should all be extremely thankful. *tongue planted firmly in cheek*

  43. Roe ski Love

@ Harold, Thank you! There was a Black owned diamond company that started a mine in S Africa. They only could make one type of cut at the time of their start up. The DeBeers family (white) then flooded the market (wholesale) with that certain cut, effectively wipeing out the company in its star up phase. Thats where you get the term conflict diamonds.

  44. Sydney

    Hi HF/Ill :)

Yes, he sounds like Uncle Ruckus, Dave Chappelle’s blind KKK character, etc., etc.

The truth! Get with it my brothers!

  54. Sydney

FYI, The Nation ran an interesting profile of Peterson, entitled “The Minister of Minstrelsy,” back in 2005:

    http://www.thenation.com/doc/20050411/blumenthal

“Though Peterson’s stunts border on self-satire, there is a method to his madness. In his hunt for recognition, Peterson has modeled himself after his hero, Booker T. Washington, the turn-of-the-century author and entrepreneur dubbed “the Great Accommodator.” Like Washington, who allied himself with conservative whites in a quest for corporate grants for his cash-strapped Tuskegee Institute, Peterson demonstrates loyalty to the most rigid elements of the white establishment in ways that seem calculated to advance his personal ventures and increase his public stature.

“Blacks see racism everywhere they look, even though by most accounts there is really very little racism left among whites–certainly not among those with much power and influence. The sad truth is that black racism is far more pervasive today than is white racism,” Peterson wrote in his 2003 polemic Scam: How the Black Leadership Exploits Black America. For conservative Republicans frustrated with the steadfast refusal of minorities to abandon their grievances, Peterson’s words are a source of comfort. For white nationalists determined to intimidate and marginalize aspirant ethnic minorities, Peterson could embolden their crusade. It’s no wonder both factions have promoted him so aggressively.”

I do, the teacher *****igned my son a report on Geroge W. Bush. He wrote a little about his background, and he also wrote somethings I had explained to him, like the unneccessary Iraq war which was built on lies. and how George Bush doesn’t care about anyone since he was playing Golf while people were dying after Hurricane Katrina. He got an A, LOL, the teacher was probably to scared of what I say if I had to come up there.

It doesn’t surprise me at all. The sciences were another field in which Africa rivaled if not, exceeded anywhere else in the world. Let’s not even get started on music, art and culture. 1 of the ways the white people were able 2 conquer the Africans was by forcibly taking their drums away. Once they realized that the Africans were sending warnings by drum beats, they said “no..no..no.”

Now that I mention it- between the African Drums and the smoke signals of the Native Americans…what we now know as Morse code was invented. As usual, the credit went 2 a white man named Samuel Morse.

  68. BKLYNZ OWN (florida bound)

    REAL BLOODCLOT COON YES!!

  69. HF

Speaking of the African slaves and the Native Americans… they were tight indeed. The Indians dubbed the slaves “Buffalo Soldiers.” There r infinite stories of these 2 groups interacting, exchanging ideas, and helping each other out, both before and after the middle p*****age.

2 this day, there is a tradition of celebration of this relationship during Mardi-Gras. Specifically by the Mardi-Gras Indians.

  70. Illuminate Truth

    Hey Syd!!

Just a little bit off topic, but have you been to the Sandy Spring Slavery Museum in Bmore at all. Anybody that hasn’t been and is close enough to go should make it a point to visit…..just don’t bring children that are too young (I would say under 12)to see graphic depictions of slavery (i.e. our female ancestor’s vaginas in a jar of formaldehyde……trophies for our saviours, the slave master). If you can walk out of there and feel the least bit good about slavery you have absolutely no shot at logical thought. Personally, I had to seperate myself from Caucasian society for a couple of days just to avoid the obvious.

    @ JK

Always good to see parents taking the time to remove the BS they are being taught and replacing it with truth…..Your child will prosper because of it. I was just talking with a good friend last night about parents monitoring everything they are being fed by our school system, the media, entertainers, etc. so you can balance the nonsense with good sense. If our children are made aware of what is real and what is fantasy (starting with these so called history books…very large propoganda pamphlets is a better description) and how to look at things from all perspectives, instead of blindly accepting an agenda as fact, we will raise a generation of free thinkers. Thanks for doing your part.

  71. ha ha

he really needs to learn history.

the state of the country now and the somewhat simmering race relations is not a result of the white folks, but the drive and fight with African Americans so that we could live better and be treated with respect.

It it were left up to whitey, things would still be segregated.

I wish more folks like him especially at such an advanced age would really learn their history. Ignorance kills

Now as far as Soulja Boy, no I can’t buy that and other rap like that however, that is my personal choice. Although is rap is not positive he is doing something besides selling drugs on the street, and making babies everywhere, for now at least.

Second, if something like the Cosbys came out or someone made positive rap all the time. No one would buy it or watch, it is sad but true. People like to watch shows that they can relate to, honestly a lot of people may wish they had a family like the Cosbys, but a lot of people don’t therefore they can not relate.

Good posts…as usual. I enjoy reading anything that is informative and thought provoking….you covered both. You are correct in saying this land was visited WAY before Columbus made his journey (this clown got lost, ended up in the island now known as the Dominican Republic / Haiti, left his crew for dead and went back to Spain…..a true hero). The people of Kush visited and interacted with the indigenous people of this land. The proof is in the hieroglyphics inside the flat topped pyramids (a Kush trademark) in the lands of the Aztecs, the Mayans, etc. Again, white man taking credit for something already accomplished.

Trust me when I tell you White people are living good as hell in Africa right now. They want all of to think it’s this nasty, filty, dieseased place, but it’s not. If we all packed up and went back to Africa, them crackers would have a *****ing fit. And they still treating them like slaves too. Robbing their land, and making them work for almost nothing… smh

and for me, there is a such thing as a coon. We have to save our black men and women. and leave these coon ***** jiggaboo *****s to kiss whitey ***** all day. There is no time to try and save all these dumb ***** lost souls. I’m rolling with my strong black people.. and keeping forward.

I wonder how much Fox News is paying Jesse lee to distribute stupidity and self-hate nation-wide. I’m not astonished at all by Lee’s comments. I just would like to know how was his upbringing? Are his parents responsible for this puerile and inane buffoonery? This is the same reverend that believed Bill O’Reilly’s comments (‘There wasn’t one person in Sylvia’s who was screaming, ‘M-Fer, I want more iced tea, and I couldn’t get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia’s restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City’) weren’t racist, but informative and educational to White America.

Boyce Watkins stated, ‘Isn’t it amazing that in America there are still Handkerchief Head Negroes.’ Yes, some of us are still shucking and jiving for white folks (Bamboozled by Spike), and it’s sickening. What’s really disturbing is that, Jesse Lee is enforcing political ideologies that advocate white preponderancy. He (just like other black people) is the result of a social ailment created by racism and oppression centuries ago. I can’t fathom or *****imilate this man being a reverend and having a flock of saints.

Don’t throw away that word “coon” just yet. That term was used by slave masters to describe an unruly slave that wouldn’t conform to m*****ah’s wishes. Not the most constructive ways to vent and get something done, but I wanted EVERYONE, to get angry, not just upset, but ANGRY. It takes ANGER to make us move and stop objectifying ourselvs, even if we don’t always agree, you have to see that..I am tired of us turning on each other and the fact that black life doesn’t seem to matter…

I am truly a believer that no one teaches my children anything but me and their father. If people would stop letting the television raise their children, that probably would solve half the problems we have with our youth. I let my oldest watch that and he listens to rap, however I am there and is father is there to tell him that whatever he is watching or whatever he is listening to is not how it really goes down in the real world. See I grew up on rap, and no I don’t gang bang and I didn’t marry a thug. I actually went to college and law school and compelted both.

So, again in closing stop blaming everyone else and blame yourself or the people you know who in the real world who are actually causing the probelems. One we stop trying to make others a role model for our children, and actually step up and do the job ourselves and once we stop blaming people such as Tyler Perry, and say “Hey what can I do for my child to make him/her better.” Than half the battle will be won. So when people or children who watch shows such as this, will be able to enjoy their lightheartdness and not actually take it as this is how the world is.

Anyways, I havent viewed this footage of Jesse yet, but I will say that I still have a form of respect for him because he marched with MLK, however from reading everyones reaction to his statements, he may have been the one to tell MLK to go on the balcony that day to get him shot…

  105. Toussaint Beaupre

its not about that, its about being responsible.
Black people laughed at black face too, but then they later realized that it was wrong.
” we will all look back on Tyler’s work and question what the hell were we thinking”

When black kids think talking intelligent is talking “white”, or that hustling is better than college there is a problem. In tyler’s movies, black women are cant feel complete until they have a man, and if the black man is successful then he is a bad guy. the under educated guy or the garnage man is the good guy. Madea is a stereotype of the mammie, the he adds the sambo, w*****s and religious manipulation. its damaging in the long run to just ignore it. But you know some

  106. Nina Knows

    @Matchstik..

I couldnt honestly answer that without having been to Africa before. I know for fact though it’s not exactly what they try and program us to believe. All I can say is at least once in my lifetime I must travel there. and for now I’m stuck in America, and it aint too peachy.

  107. JK

I can’t say that Madea’s image is in anyway correlated to a mammie image. There is truth in his stories. The truth that a lot of really like Madea people are raising children that are not theirs, because the parents are out there wilding out or on drugs. This is truth, to many grandparents are raising their grandchildren.

  108. Toussaint Beaupre

    @Toussaint Beaupre

Again people raise your own kids and stop letting television raise your children and the suppose to be rapper role models. Yet again you have not addressed this issue. This would resolve a lot in our community.

  111. JK

Actually I love his work. It is good to see a black man doing something good, liking building his own film studios, having a show with black people, when the major networks refuse to do so. Donating back to the community. It is good to see a black man strive to be more than a rapper.

  112. Nina Knows

Our people will “kumbaya” and rally for the betterment of all people when blacks are basically getting fed up with whites. I seen alot of comments geared towards… everyone should love each other, no matter the color.

yet I need see such rah-rah when *****s are harping violence on each other. Just like blaq said, she could yell ***** all *****s all day and would probably get 100 co-signs. but as soon as you go against the white man…. all hell breaks loose. I’m still trying to register that one in.

    @ Everyone-

This is a completely unrelated topic. I just saw this article and it *****ed me off. Check it out:

“A slain police officer’s sister reacted with disgust after a jury cleared a former actor on “The Sopranos” of her brother’s killing during a botched burglary three years ago.

Lillo Brancato Jr. on Monday was convicted of a lesser charge of attempted burglary. He faces from three to 15 years in prison; the former actor could get credit for time served because he has been behind bars nearly three years”

    ____________________________________________

This article is in regards to black police ficer that was killed by an actor for the Sopranos. He has been cleared of all charges…

    MY POINT:

Everybody came down on me for talking about the lack of quality of life, if your skin pigment is not of the Caucasian skin….A BLACK OFFICER was killed and his death is going unpunished. The officer was killed in defending his neighbors property. The Sopranos’ actor- is out of jail, free after 3 years.

@ Tara & Everybody else who can’t see it-

It doesn’t matter if you have on a suit, speak proper English, have 6 zeros’ in the bank, or work for the government. He was shot during a ‘bad’ robbery…The black off-duty officer was responding to the white actor breaking in to support his crack/ meth habit. The officer was killed and he completely got off….Even our so-called authority figures , their lives are not taken seriousy either….Even if they have no record, doing the right thing, etc.,

YOU ARE STILL TREATED WITH DISRESPECT.

Sean Bell was murdered and the cops also got off…Which leads me back to this point. Everyone PRETENDS, that once you have a little change, that you no longer hae to put up with the racism. You ar wrong. If you wear this skin, no matter how much money you have, how far in life you go, what you drive, where you live…MY POINT: OUR LIVES DO NOT MATTER TO THEM. EVEN WHEN YOU FOLLOW AL THE RULES. YOU LOVE TO PRETEND EDUCATION – WILL CHANGE IT ALL…NOT NECESSARILY, IF A INTSTITUTION SEES YOUI A CERTAIN LIFE, YOU ARE STILL DEVALUED. YOU ARE STILL TREATED AS LESS THAN. THE WHITE GUY BROKE INTO THE BLACK GUY’S NEIGHBORS HOUSE, THE BLACK GUY GETS KILLED, EVEN THOUGH HE ‘S A POLICE OFFICER, NOTHING WAS DONE..tHE WHITE CRACKHEAD,COMPLETELY GOT OFF….EVENTS LIKE TIS HAPPEN EVERYDAY…

MY POINT: JUST LIKE TUPAC SAID, IT DOESN’T MATTER WHETHER YOU WEAR A BUSINESS SUIT OR A JUMP SUIT. ALL THEY SEE IN THEIR EYES, IS A *****. OUR LIVES WILL CONTINUE TO BE DEVALUED. WE WILL NOT PICK UP THE TORCH AND DEMAND EQUALITY, IN THE TRUEST SENSE. WE WILL CONTINUE TO LET THEM CONTROL EVERYTHING AND WE’LL JUST CONTINUE TO BE GUESTS, IN OUR OWN COUNTRY… AND BASING THIS ON THE RESPONSE THAT I RECEIVED YESTERDAY, (TARA),YOU CAN’T EXTRAPILATE YOURSELF FROM CERTAIN SITUATIONS, IF YOU HAVE NO REAL POWER…..BESIDES, PEOPLE CONTINUING TO BUY INTO:

“”What message is this sending out to the New York City police officers today? It’s wrong,” said Yolanda Rosa Nazario, sister of the victim.

Prosecutors said Brancato, 32, and accomplice Steven Armento broke into a basement apartment to steal prescription drugs after a night of drinking at a strip club in December 2005. Officer Daniel Enchautegui (En-chow-TAY’-gee), who lived next door and was off duty, came out to investigate.

Armento blasted the 28-year-old officer with his .357 Magnum, hitting him in the heart. The dying officer fired back, wounding both men. Armento was convicted earlier this year of first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Brancato, who acknowledges problems with drugs and alcohol, said he was unaware Armento, 48, was carrying a weapon. He also argued he did not directly take part in the killing and was not armed.

During the gunbattle, Enchautegui was struck once and Armento was hit six times. Brancato, who drove the car to the apartment, was shot twice.”

Whatever! I have lived in Africa (Ghana to be precise) for two years. I WENT there, I was not BORN there and let me tell you…y’all don’t have a damn idea of what you’re talking about. Africa is the sh*t and I’m finishing up my college degree so I can go back.

Dang, the African-American people are a dying, mindless race sometimes. Yeah I said IT!

First off, This dude suffers from a case of victim syndrome. (Abductees would sympathize with the abductors)As much as I was shocked at the audacity of this guy, And 2nd, I also SMH @ the state of black consciousness in some of our elders not mentally equipped for change. So it’s not about thanking him or thanking her, but it’s about the mental illness present in these elders: Pastor Manning and now REv lee as the more prominent ones.

This is a sign for some of you youngins who WILL become elders if you live that long. Educate your offspring.

Black people will get nowhere trying to seperate ourselves…. from ourselves.

    you got:
    Black Americans vs. Africans
    Black women vs. Black men
    light skin vs. Dark skin
    rich blacks vs. poor blacks
    hood blacks vs. suburb blacks
    north vs. south
etc… I could go on and on, but we need to realize we are ALL THE SAME. Our culture was stripped from us beyond reconition, and we all need to work hard at getting it back.

Blacks are made to feel bad if your trying to do right by your people and your people only. I cant worry about saving the world without reaching my hand out to lil girls and boys who look just like me.

We are bigger slaves now then we’ve ever been because our minds are enslaved. Back then they were not allowed freedom and they fought for it. But now we THINK we are free and no longer fight anymore. we run across stories in the papers and go “ooh man that was messed up”… then we back doing what we do. smh

For me this is a 2 *****g question- I;m proud of Afirca, as well, would I like to live there? Depends. Depends on how you are talking abuot living…I don;t think it’s that great in America, sorry…There’s ALOT of stress, hypertension and high bloodpressure caused from dealing with the racism and issues, people of color have to deal withm that inadvertantly cuts our lives short…In Africa, starvation and other racial issues…I wjust would like to be able to live, without all of the discimination that goes along with it….

At first, I foolishly belived like some of you.We had moved up. My husband and I purchased a house at the base of a mountain, with majority of white neighbors and such….It wasn;t what I thought it was going to be: White Neighbors always in your face, trying to look over backyad walls to see and compete with you–in regars to landscaping, the luxury SUV, that you drive, them trying to compete, because I mainly work from home, only going to the office when I need to or to drop off paychecks, they send their kids over to play with my toddlers because they have very expensive things to be so young, custom, nice clothes and shoes, motorized trucks and atv’s (they are only 2 1/2 and 3 1/2), they want to come over to see how you can afford to go out of town all the tme, they want to compete, when they nose their way in, looking at your Samsung ugscree with surround sound, they want to comment and see all you art collections , go all in your house to see how you live, they want to come over for dinner and invte themselves to your cookouts. They want to know where you shop, how you can afford whatever, they are just ALWAYS THERE……Living in a mainly white community is not all it’s cracked up to be..I miss being around people that look like me. I miss having neighbors who understand our culture, and lways trying to touch you, your clothes, your children, etc….Getting stopped at least once a week for 6 months, until they (neighbors and police officers)realize that you own, not renting/ leasing…

Feelings of shame, when you go to the gated community park and there’s not one child who even looks like yours…..And then the white school issues…..When you answer the door,to sign for packages, they think you are the help until they see your children…..YOU TELL ME, THAT’S NOT RACISM, RIGHT???….

It goes on forever, it’s not sweet on either side…And you feel like you don’t belong, because they are always going out of the way, to find out every little detail about you…

There’s something to be said about living in ‘nice’ homes……Ofen times more than not, you become a prisoner of your own home… For me, it’s not that bad but, it;s not great either, I can just imagine how the super wealthy blacks feel….

I agree with your points about America, Ive always thought about moving out the country when I retire.

Of couse it would be natural for a package a carrier to think you were help in an all white affluent neighborhood….just like it would be natural to think a white person in a predominantly black ghetto is buying drugs…why care if they think that, That is societies perception….Maybe they think you are special, because you show symbols of affluence, and maybe your affluence will give a white person the impression that black people are not all the same..Why do you let them come over your house and play with your kids? I know its disheartening to not see your people living like you, all you can do is set the standard and maybe people will be inspired…..

‘I’m sorry i just would like my children to see images of intelligent black people, We are more than Madea, or atleast we should want to be.’

I agree. There aren’t enough optimistic, representations of us on the TV screen. There are major studios, such as NBC, ABC, CBS that have been presented with family-oriented, black scripts for a pilot. But, the story line is too unrealistic to these executives or it’s out of touch with what America is accustomed to (thugs, out-of-wedlock children). How many black shows have been distributed by a major studio? I can only think of a hand full. We’re given certain networks for entertainment purposes with the knowledge of these shows resulting in low prime time viewers and low profits/capital. It’s just a modernized way of supremacy.

    What’s going on, Blaq?

    Thanks for speaking out.
This video shows that mental slavery is still predominant among the african american community.
I am truly amazed at the ignorance shown by the so-called educated people on this site. There are people here that need to pick up a book and travel in order to broaden their horizon this level of ignorance is surprising in a country like America. The fact that there are people on this website that believe that Afica is one big country(like Sarah Palin) with everybody running around with flies on there faces is truly amazing in the year 2008..Yes there are countries in the continent of Africa with problems mainly due to bad leadership and corrupt practises but in this economic climate which country is safe?.
    @ Mrs Rance
Nigeria just needs good leadership and this will happen sooner or later . There is the resource and a lot of brillant minds both in the diaspora and in Nigeria that are working towards that.
Africans will have to improve there countries sooner or later because they rule.African american need to try and improve there own conditions and thereby move out of the third cl***** citizens status.Africans in the USA are doing a lot better both in education and buisness in a country that you call your own.The situation in Katrina alone showed the world that African Americans will always be at the bottom of the food chain.Even the so called African American president is half white with an african father(Kenyan).

    ___________________________________
The officer was not black, he was hispanic and was killed two blocks away from where I live. Lillo Brancato was acquitted and the other man that actually shot the cop and killed him was convicted. While you’re looking up ***** in the news like this, why don’t you look up the article about the black man who was acquitted last week of killing a white NYPD cop, officer Timoshenko during a routine traffic stop. You always wanna act educated when you don’t even know what the ***** you’re talkin about.

As for the guy in this video it’s pretty sad what he said, and *****ody asked to be brought over here. But at the end of the day this is the land of the free and many people have risked their lives and even lost it to get to this country. It’s just not right for him to feel like you should give thanks to white people for bringing here against your will.

That’s my two sense and as much as I would love to get into a debate with a lot of people in here who sound like the black version of the kkk I have christmas shopping to do…carry on.

  159. tru3playboy

And on more than one occasion I have heard black africans condemn black americans cuz they say that they are nothing like africans and they don’t even wanna be *****ociated with them.

To the person that brought up reparations, you will never get reparations just like the millions of jews who burned to death in ovens didn’t…why would you think the government would pay you for something that you didn’t even experience?

Like Wyclef said, don’t ever blame the white man for your problems, you can get an education, you can get a job just like anyone else, you can be lawyers, doctors, ***** even the president now. Stop it with the bull***** already. Jewish people had to overcome many hardships, the holocaust, racism, etc..and now look they are some of the most powerful people in this country.

Unfortunatly unlike you welfare babies I have a job and a life and I can’t spend all of my free time bashing white people on bossip. BUT YOUR ON BOSSIP. sooo I guess you being on bossip somehow supports your family, and overcomes life’s obstacles. YOU ARE A JOKE. Everything you said just proved my point. and I’m not the one who posted the article ***** boy.

His argument would only make sense if blacks came here post 1960s. They came to American before its freedom, development, and wealth. They play with each other but noone else at b-day parties, I mainly take them out to museums, kids hand on museums, observatories, Disney plays, and to business meetings (sometimes, depending on situation, state and federal meetings, I never take them.. ) and to all of our, out of town meetings and vacations….

We are pretty much by oursleves. We did this because 8 years ago, my only under-performing business was here, so we decided to concentrate on it, because I wanted to build a house, in this state..The business was to provide and pay all bills, for this state. It’s working, but VERY lonely. We have ourselves, each other and our 2 kids. We fly in relatives, all the time, but not this year..Other plans… And I am not really happy about it either…I love my family…more than any amount of money….

  174. D

@ Christmas Jones.. THANK YOU! You are the only one who came in here with sense. All these people like JK have never set foot in Africa.

STOP treating Africa like it is one country where there is just famine and distruction. I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. I live and work there now and I am having a great time. Educated in Kenya and I am a lawyer.

If you haven’t set on in any country in Africa, you have no authority to say anything on how life is there. Have you been to Accra? Nairobi? Lagos? Abuja? Addis? Dar Es Salaam? Rabat? JoBurg?, Windhoek? Kinshasa? Cairo? You probably wondering where all these places are. African cities where life is going on.. business, finances, entertainment, etc. Africa has over 50 countries with so much diversity. So much life. You will have a ball when you set foot on the motherland.. the land of your ancestors. So here is your *****ignment for 2009: GET A P*****PORT.

Secondly, how anyone can be grateful for slavery, is beyond me. It was demeaning, destructive and disgusting. It is good to be proud of America and where you are from but don’t look down on a place you have never been too and rely on racist broadcasting and news.

  179. torietee

I am quite shocked with some of the posts. As one poster has already said Africa is a continent and not a county just as Europe is a continent. The continent just like the Americas is vast and diverse.

I find this man’s comments depressing. I can’t believe that anyone who is famliair with the history of slavery in the Americas could say such things. Slavery and the slave trade was a blot on humanity.

I am black British from African descent and I studied American slavery, Jim Crow and the civil rights movement at university. Slavery and Jim Crow was a dark time in American history. And I can not believe that anyone in this day and age could say that those who traded in African slaves and those who made a living off the labour of Africans were doing them and their descents a favour.

So many defenders of slavery at the time had the same argument. They said that slavery would ‘civilize’ the African. This is racist talk.

    Sorry for the typos.

people r getting brainwashed by too much tv, I mean i loved blood daimond but at least i have the sense to know black people aint make the movie. he’s prbly grew up in a white neighbor hood where they were nice too his face until he wanted to wed one of their daughters. people forget the past so easy. And even that can be tolerated but to rewrite it and making it seem like it was all in good intention is ridiculous. and who knows if africa would have topped they us if it didnt get rapped so much?

  190. JADIMEPIECE

for everyone who dont know Africa is the cradle of civilization and not to mention where life began….now that we r past that,,, Africa is the way it is because of what was done to it and continues to be done to it today…I se epeople who dont like Africans because they are some how unclean and have diseases, but it is that way because the land was plundered and all it’s valuables stolen by the white man and their descendants continue to reap the benefits even today when will some black people learn that there was life before slavery its truly funny how all i ever heard people talk about is slavery, but we need to realize we were more than slaves and we founded the first civilizations in a prsperous African continent HIStory IS A LIE AGREED UPON u know reading is so important and not just what u r told by some text book in school thats full of *****…its sad but so many of us are so lost i just hope we can one day find ourselves and rise to our true potential to do that u must remove the chains that are still on some of our minds…mental slavery people..yes it exist and continues to hold so many of us down…the white man claims sevrything and some of us are still in shackles i could go on please peole read carefully of all the atrocities committed it was done by the white man and now his descendants dont even have to do it because so many of us will lie down and take it like that man, I can’t really put him down because he hasn’t come to the realization thatthings are the way they are because of things that was put into motion hundreds of years ago. We do have to get past it and move on but for some its hard and for others who dont know they need to ne educated on the true greatness of the forst people to walk the face of the earth

  191. JADIMEPIECE

    damn typos

  192. JADIMEPIECE

i dont want to criticize people who are on tv giving a lil food to little hungry kids in Africa and not everyone there is hungry and live like what they show on tv and i know am not doing anything to help but i really cant stand those people who come onwanting donation so they can get some oatmeal to the starving kids what they should do is build things u all know the saying about give a man a fish and he eats today but teach him to fish and he will eat for a life time it looks all good but tomorrow they will still need y not build a way for them to get clen water instead of taking some bottled water that way tghey will always need….goodness we have such a long way to go to get back to our rightful place

  193. JADIMEPIECE

this really itchs me the wrong way i suppose he has a big picture of jesus up in his house too nice and white i bet becasue the white man says everything good is white and some of us runs out and buy it..i dint know jesus was taking pics back then and god and the angels came for their phot shoot i wonder if theyr were posing

  194. Harold E

    Right on point jadimpiece

  195. Well

I couldn’t even take this seriously. @HF, I thought the same thing: UNCLE RUCKUS.

I read the Nation article earlier today, because I googled this guy. HE said he had an awakening in 1995 when he discovered Jesus…and *drum roll please* RONALD REAGAN.

I wonder if he is the inspiration for some of Uncle Ruckus’s rantings on Boondocks…

This isn’t even anything to get mad about…he’s beyond anger to the point of pure foolishness.

  196. An Owl

SMDH in amazement. If his title was earned (Rev.) then this man apparently spent time in an institution of higher learning. Learning what exactly? On the other hand, a poster made a valid point that the Rev’s bread is buttered by Fox News and the like, but how on earth does he sleep at night unless he believes this stuff?? Is he completely without conscience?? Then again, in the name of money, many many evil harmful things are done every day and the perpertrators suffer no qualms of conscience about their misdeeds. So maybe Rev. Jesse Lee is just another crack dealer peddling his wares outside the local elementary school.

After reading through all the posts I again had to shake my head in deep deep grief – this time at the PROFOUND ignorance of the wannabe pharisees of self righteousness who condemned this pititful twisted homunculus of an alleged man of god. Not to know that Africa is not a single monolithic country, but a vast continent of many different nations, peoples, laws and governance systems, beliefs, schooling styles, languages, cultures, etc etc etc??? The wanton ignorance of Americans (black and white) in the face of limitless resources, free libraries etc is DISGRACEFUL. Ghana is not the same as Benin, which is not the same as Cote d’Ivoire which is not the same as Djibouti, or Nigeria, or Zaire, or Zimbabwe, or Niger, or Cameroon, or Central African Republic et al ad nauseam. And no, your ancestors were not kings and queens living in a mythical land of milk and honey, advanced scientific knowledge and wisdom or they would not have been forced to undertake the Middle P*****age! Logic!

The current every day problems of African countries can be traced to historica colonial activity yes, but also to post colonial undermining of the newly indepent states (study Zaire-Congo) in order to maintain the unimpeded flow of cheap raw material to the ‘developed’ world. But the inteference of the rest of the more ‘developed’ world would not have been possible without flaws in the Africans themselves. The same flaws that are sometimes so visibly manifested in ‘African-Americans’. Not all by any means, but enough to make it sadly conspicuous. For me, these shared horrible traits are short attention spans, excessive love of and addiction to immediate gratification, paucity of long term planning, low expectations for ourselves and our so-called race, self-delusion, greed, arrogance, absence of a true spirit of cooperation to achieve mutually agreed upon worthwhile societal goals…. to name a few. If the bloggers here are any sort of realistic sampling, we are not likely to get out of the quagmires deepened by our Africaness anytime soon, neither Africans nor African-Americans. In words many of you would more readily understand – we are royally *****ed.

The lady who talked about moving to a white community and not being comfortable-happy… well, here’s a tale for you, growing up (as an expatriate African in Europe, Canada and the US with my 100% African parents) in almost completely white neighborhoods, my experience was that the (enlightened – pun intended) white parents who wanted their children to hang out with us did so because they found us to be the best mannered, well brought up, cleanest, smartest kids. They were always surprised by this (after all Africa is full of only disease and flies and wars and death isn’t it, according to everyone but people who have actually lived there) but once the truth of it sank home, in typical caucasian fashion, they looked to improve their own offsprings’ chances of success in life, by having them *****ociate with people they could acquire certain characteristics from. It was not about expensive toys (we had none – in fact – we were the only family in the neighborhood with a single black and white television, which we kids were only allowed to watch for 2 hours max per day – our white neighbours had big screen colour TVs in every other room). Our house was kid central because we were kind to each other and guests, our mother cooked fresh food from fresh goods not frozen, canned or petrified with chemical preservatives, we had sensible rules of behaviour which we were expected to follow. We were admired because we did well in school, studied, read books for pleasure and learning, were respectful, and among other attributes, took regular, very regular baths – a foreign concept to the children of many of our upper middle cl***** white neighbours!

My point is – hell, I’m not sure what my point is any more. Africans do not have a monopoly on evil treatment by the way. Jewish victimization did not begin with Hitler and the holocaust. Check out Spanish Inquisition, Pogroms in Russia etc. even enslavement by Egypt and Babylon! But look at them now. Still whining about Hitler to be sure, but nevertheless making something of themselves and their community. We whine about colonialism and the slave trade and Jim Crow and do *****-all until Hurricane Katrina makes it very very obvious to us that hiding our heads in the sand about unacceptable rates of black incarceration, single motherhood, underachievement of every kind in general can lead to us dying like mangy dogs for all to see on INTERNATIONAL TV in the most powerful country in the world and NO-ONE GIVING A ***** is…. normal.

  197. Shareef Maduoan Raheem Fuqon Jackson Brown III

But slavery was just like a crowded ride in an airplane. If at random moments the women would get raped and the family members got seperated and treated like cattle, that’s exactly what it’s like.
