…back in the day it was creepy too…there is a Japanese version of Frankenstein that is just pure comedy…OMG!…it is over the top…what makes is so hilarious is not only the limited budget, but their interpretation of American gore using romper room special effects…LOL!

…not that i know of…however, blaxploitation films knew no boundaries back in the seventies…to be honest with you the seventies didn’t really produce any quality black films back then…if you have a sick sense of humor then you can look back and laugh…i will look that up though….a black werewolf???…

I went to a blaxploitation film festival years ago, and that’s where I saw Foxy Brown for the first time, along with other movies from that genre, and they all seemed to be pretty formulaic and rudimentary. . .I had a lot of good laughs, though.

From what I’ve been told, a number of blacks looked down upon these films, like some of us may view “stereotypical” flicks like “Soul Plane.”

I totally agree. . .I try to watch as many of them as I can. I love the mystical elements in many of these films. The Eye is another good one (saw the sequel, but not the first one).

….i believe that America did not take Soul Plane for face value…i guess we still have a long way to go to improve our current image in the world, and until then, any pun against reality will be shunned….for instance….there are several black shows that i could watch amongst fellow black cohorts, which might make me a bit uneasy to watch with in front of some of my fellow white work counterparts….due to the existing negative stereotype of blacks in America…

….liquidman is the persona created by the Tokyo Rave scene between 2000 – 2004….there was an underground club, which played House, Drum & Bass, and Trance.. called liquidroom in Shinjuku Japan…however the true joy of the world was a club called Velfarre….it can be compared to Studio 54 of the 70′s….that is from where liquidman’s persona is derived…..

…there is a time and place for every type of music….trust me when i say that hiphop is nice but if you had to choose between a good house music club and a hiphop club, you would definitely feel safer in the hiphop club….you would be surprised at the musical taste of some of your favorite hip hop artist….a friend of mine named Morris used to run a company an entertainment company in Japan called Positive Productions and he brought over all of the hip hop talent to the Japan and the Military bases abroad….interesting take on the personalities…..

There are some nice live music spots like the 9:30 Club and the Black Cat that I’ve been to. . .

And there are some good local deejays as well — There’s one who does these Prince parties where he pits Prince against another artist, like Madonna or Outkast, and plays only those artists’ songs all night.
