Breezy‘s mother may have been his official date for the American Music Awards but sources say Karrueche was spotted at the award show trying to get to hre ex-boo thang.

A source close to Karrueche tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “Quiet as it’s kept, Karrueche was there.” Our insider adds, “She kept a low profile and was backstage not trying to be all in front of the cameras or with Chris…It wasn’t about them being together or anything like that, it was just a night to have fun.”

The friend says that Karrueche and Chris didn’t see each other during the night, as she wanted to respect his time with his mom.

“No, she didn’t even see him. Crazy, I know, but they texted a little and that was it. She was just glad she got to watch him perform and support,” our source says. “I’m telling you though, it wasn’t…about them being together or anything. Chris was with his mom and [Karrueche] respects that and gave them their space. Thats it and that’s all.”

With RihRih out on her worldwide tour, we wondered whether Chris would take his friend-with-benefits Karrueche to the American Music Awards as his date.
