It looks like Netflix and On Demand movie orders will be skyrocketing:

A man angry that a family was talking during a movie threw popcorn at the son and then shot the father in the arm, according to police in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

James Joseph Cialella, 29, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons violations, a police report said.

Cialella told the family sitting in front of him in the theater on Christmas Day to be quiet, police said.

An argument ensued while others at the Riverview Movie Theatre watched “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Cialella then approached the family from the left side of the aisle and shot the father, who was not identified, as he was standing between Cialella and his family, according to the police report.

The victim was taken to Jefferson Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left arm, police said.

Cialella was carrying a Kel-Tec .380-caliber handgun clipped inside his sweatpants, police said. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Foolish stuff like ignoring people, switching seats, or just asking for a refund are things of the past. Why, ya’ll? That’s it, Jesus, we’re pulling over at the next exit, and you’re taking the wheel.

Never believed in Jesus, but SOMETHING has to happen! Our gun laws are dated!
Too many nuts out there to give people guns, without a total background check!

I go to the movies in harlem… 125th street.

I often feel like shooting people who yell at the screen, bring their babies, talk on cellphones or eat stank ass fast food in there.

hats off to this dude for acting on it.

  • Is that right

This is so tragic, people are going crazier everyday. Sometimes you want to throwing something at idiots who either talk too loud or decided to check their phones distrcting people with the light, but that was deranged.

  • Ha

He’s a lunatic who acted murderously on what many people feel – the movies aren’t your damn living room.

Respect that people paid their hard earned money to watch and listen to a movie, and not to listen to you.

  • THISISME

WOW!!! I QUESS WHEN YOY’RE PAYING $5 OR $6 TO SEE A MOVIE YOU WANT TO HEAR IT TOO!!!

  • Adiamondcenter

wooow…..I told everybody they cant call us the N word no more because the WHITEYS are the true nigg*rs…..they are upset about lay offs and the new BLACK President …Black ppl have always been forced to adapt to poverty and struggles but these cave creatures are losing it…….lol welcome to our world

  • sepia830

I definitely don’t condone murderng someone who won’t be quiet at the movies, but I can understand his frustrations. About a year ago I was almost arrested for dumping a bucket of popcorn over a lady’s head because I turned around and shh’d her kid and she stuck her head between the seats and asked me what MY problem was. PEOPLE NEED TO SHUT THE F UP AT THE MOVIES!! I don’t pay $10-$15 to hear anybody talk whose name is not in the credits.

By the way…did y’all know that dumping popcorn on somebody is considered assault? I had to find that out the hard way. :)

  • Adiamondcenter

…@ Sepia 830 ….ppl do need to shut the fuk up but I wont be shooting hollow tips at the fools…..lol.. and your story is funny ….I wish I would have seen it…..be good Sepia 830 dont be making popcorn hats on ppl…lol

  • http://dipset.com JimJones

He definitely should not of shot the guy, but I don’t really blame him for being frustrated. I’ve beat someones ass before in the movies for being loud and not shutting up after I told them too. No need for the gun though, that was unprofessional.

  • Shay

Firstly..I’ll say he was crazy. BUT! I know how he feels a little bit. I hate paying $9 then $15 for snacks and then having to sit near a loud mouth family. Talking as if they’re watching the DVD at home. Holding a conversation that has nothing to do with the movie even. Sometimes I feel like popping a cap myself.

  • Ara

I’m telling yall right now, “They don’t handle stress too well”. Any type of adversity and they lose it.

  • AWWWWWWWWWWSHADDUUUUUUUP!!!!!

I ain’t mad at him. I’ve fantasized about doing it a million times my damn self. I paid $10 to see this movie now shut the F**K UP!

  • AWWWWWWWWWWSHADDUUUUUUUP!!!!!

Laughing my ass off @ Sepia looking like Thandie Newton in her avatar but assaulting people with popcorn in a movie theatre. (Is that Thandie Newton?)

  • http://style-and-regalia.blogspot.com AsiaA

Unless you are a gang banger or mobster, who the hell goes to the movies with a gun????

    that is some hood sh*t!

personally, i only go to the movies during the week, the first show of the day (usually at noon). no one is there. i don’t have to sit next to anyone. it’s just me the movie and maybe 2 or 3 other people.

    other than that , i don’t go.

and since i work, i’m not able to go to the movies under those conditions, so i rarely see anything.

but there isn’t much out that i want to see anyways.

and i’m all for wanting to tell someone the shut the f*c up, but to shoot them????

seeing a Brad Pitt movie ain’t that deep.

but i wonder. this particular movie seems to have a certain level of depth….look at the guy who shot the man. he doesn’t look like the type of person who would ‘get’ that kind of movie.

maybe he was already frustrated because they used big words and then he heard that family yakkin’ and he got pissed and just went off.

you know the father is going to be able to sue the theater AND his family can get emotional distress monies too.

  • BKLYNZ OWN

DAMN!!WAS THE MOVIE THAT GOOD? SMDH

  • R.beck

white folks really get pissed off about talking in movies. i knew it was a white dude when i first heard about it Lol!!

  • RealTalk

The man was wrong for shooting someone in a theater. He was completely out of line and should be punished accordingly….with that being said I ain’t sayin he was right but I certainly understand.

  • Lace Front Abuse & Weave Abuse, Has Given Most Black Women The Receding Hairline of The Female Klingon

This is why i wait for the dvd. The window of release from the theater to dvd is on average, is 3 to 4 months. I can wait.

  • http://www.k.com NOELLE

Wow, remind me to keep ordering dvd’s off of Amazon!

  • Darkesthourglass

Makes you wonder how ignorant it’s gonna get when the Notorious movie hits theatres. You know people are gonna be loud in there or using their cell phones. Somebody’s going to lose it. Reasons why I don’t go to theatres, I’ll wait for the DVD to come out.

  • http://youtube.com/lataye23 Christmas

im so glad obama is in office now we can get rid of these guns because any idiot can purchase one

  • bkf

    @ Christmas

    I agree… gO OBAMA gO

  • AWWWWWWWWWWSHADDUUUUUUUP!!!!!

O, somebody had to go and mention ‘Notorious.’ Now you KNOW you ain’t lying. Them Black folks are gonna be rough-housin’ like they’re at a cookout. Hell, nah. I’d like to see it too but I’m waiting for the dvd. It’s bad enough I went to see a Sneak Preview of ‘Valkerie’ a couple weeks ago and my nostrils were stuffed up the whole time by the guy next to me who had pits smellin’ like a 12-foot long Italian sub. Nasty!

  • http://myspace.com/mockrockstar Mock Rock Star is continuing to have Delusions of Grandeur

Oh well, I guess there goes my chance of watching that movie…it’s too violent
naw, i’ll still check it out in Buckhead

  • The Bear – Black is the new White!!!

Now you ALL know that at one point or another you’ve thought about hurting somebody for not knowing how to act at the movies and ruining the whole experience for you (I know I have).

I know he’s wrong for acting on his impulse but I’d bet that they (the ‘victims’) were being cheeky when asked nicely at 1st to be quiet. My Grandmother(RIP) always said… “Who don’t hear will feel.”

  • leogame

    Yep Jesus take the wheel

I’m scared straight now, don’t have a problem getting the usher….lol. Still can’t get my son to go to that theatre with me though….like he thinks they might have that incident on tape and play it before the movie or something. :(

Laughing my ass off @ Sepia looking like Thandie Newton in her avatar but assaulting people with popcorn in a movie theatre. (Is that Thandie Newton?)

lmao. Oh be quiet. :) No but have you ever seeing Thandie in an interview? She has a naughty side….

  • sepia830

Obviously I meant have you ever “seen” Thandie in an interview.

Okay, I’m going back to bed now.

  • Adiamondcenter

…..@sepia830…… lololol 2 funny….shyte Im scared now …o’well guess I will go with 8 of my boy cousins and watch the movie they are usually mild mannered…until, until…!!!!!

  • AWWWWWWWWWWSHADDUUUUUUUP!!!!!

I think I may have caught her doing her circuit tour to promote ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ but I don’t recall her saying anything risque. I like her enough but I haven’t seen her do anything that’s as captivating as her role in ‘Beloved.’ That’s the first time I started paying attention to her and Kimberly Elise.

  • Aries Chica

I had to get on some fools in the movies before and YES it is VERY bothering…

But ONLY if Benjamin Buttons was on 1hr and 45 min versus 3 hours maybe homeboy coulda made it!

  • Sepia830

    @AWWWWWWWWWWSHADDUUUUUUUP!!!!!

Yes Thandie did an excellent job in ‘Beloved’ but she was even more remarkable in ‘Besieged’. Have you ever seen her in ‘Flirting’ with Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts when they were really young? Check them out if you can.

  • YumYum

To whom ever said that “they (white people) are upset about layoffs and a black president” That is sooooo freaken true. These dumb@ss crackas are showing their true colors for real. So I think it would be best to not get in a arguement with those muthaf*ckas.
