He should have stopped after the black album and put Hollywood from Kingdom Come on the first (not deluxe) release of B’Day. love jay as an artist but this whole i’m a hustler thing is so over..he’s had the kingpins of his neighborhoods come out and speak against it…when nas ether’d him he should’ve just manned up and let it ride but nah he tried to come back harder with more fairy tales..the same guys that brought jay into the industry on day one have been saying it..he moved nickels but jay never saw a key officially on his own..its the 50cent syndrome..how you go from selling dimes of trees on the streets to claiming you sold weight on tracks…eventually the truth surfaces..I gotta give it to jay he rode the gimmick for a long time…and he’s got a penchant for hiring the best ppl to do damage control. I hope this album offers more than just gangster fairy tales because i’d like to hear him at least narrate the other side (the pain) in the heart of some of these hustlers and the conflicting feelings…now that would be innovative..since we’ve heard the aggressive cold side of hustlers thousands of times on thousands of tracks.

The song and video are hot! Jay-Z isn’t for everybody. I remember as a kid seeing Rayful and his crew pull up in G’town in the 80’s/90’s. I think most people that haven’t been down with the Jay Movement from day one struggle to understand the albums now. For instance this Blue Magic song and the Video are from a rapper thats not the same person he was when he started. When Jay first dropped I was running the streets partying all night but now I have a family but still enjoy chilling in the barbers chair going back to a time when things were different.

Bentleys, drug theme, expensive liquor, cigar smoke, non-black looking model chick that just gets to stand around to look cool, while the black girls have to shake? New York is no longer ahead of the curve in the rap game. It’s no longer the place where everyone wants to be. Most of the sound innovation is coming from elsewhere, mainly the South, been that way for years. Who’s reppin’ NY right now, MIMS, 50 (who’s getting trounced by Kanye)? I don’t even care for Kanye, but his wordplay and videos are far more thought provoking and entertaining. Jay’s not the lyricist he once was.

the problem with this song is that jay, and nas, pharaohe,basically the best emcees, don’t pick the best music to rhyme over. skateboard p ain’t even tryin’.

AGES!! my beef with him is, he’s not coming hard like we’re used to. you cant be the “greatest” if you cant consistantly come hard(lyrically)! no body wants to hear him “rap for fun” or liesure, *****osy wants to hear that from any rapper! we’ve all seen it befor, a rapper comes out hard(lyrically) cause he’s still hungry, but once he “makes it” his flow get lazy and sloppy. I find it quite sad that everyone is picking on LL Cool J. First and foremost I feel that Russell Simmons did LL wrong by not at least offering him some type of CEO or *****istant CEO position when he gave up Def Jam. My reasoning for this is because had it not been for LL and Run DMC Def Jam would not exist and would not have been one of the top hip hop/rap labels out. Yes I understand that at the time Jay was hot and selling records but so did LL when it was his time….Hell the last time LL had a hot record was just what in 2003?? Come on man….

Also I think its all a question of loyalty and remembering who helped to bring you to the top. Since Jay has been in charge of Def Jam what has he done besides promote himself and that Rihanna chick?? I mean come on…Redman has an album out but no one knows about it or can seem to find out anything for that matter about Red….because Def Jam did not promote it. Instead Jay Z is hogging all the publicity for himself (who needs to retire already) and again that ***** Slobber Rihanna. What’s really good?? I have been a Jay Z fan for a very long time but even I know when to give credit when credit is due…and I am sorry but Jay Z gets no love from me or support. The last album I bought will be just that THE LAST ALBUM. Support and promote your other artist like you are suppose to. Remember that your camel looking ***** was not always on top and that Russell gave you a chance and now it is time for you to do the same.

I have loved Hova from the gate. I have yet to become sick of him. His flow is sick. Tracks may NOT be that hot, but I must admit his rap & flow is hot. There’s none sicker right now. And let’s be honest, his concerts are sold out!! Within minutes, so he’s doing something right. Keep’em comin HOV!!!!
