Kansas City Chiefs Player Jovan Belcher Allegedly Killed Himself And Girlfriend
A double shooting involving a Kansas City Chiefs player is under investigation by police on Dec. 1, 2012. No names have been released, but early reports indicate that KC Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher may have shot his girlfriend and then committed suicide.
Details are still very unclear in this breaking story, but KCTV5 reports that shooting was reported at approximately 8 a.m. at a home near 54th Street and Chrysler Avenue and a second shooting was reported a short time later at a Chiefs practice facility located on the Arrowhead facility.
Officials tell KCTV5 that the Chiefs player shot and killed his girlfriend. He then drove to the practice facility where he shot and killed himself.
Speculation on Twitter continues this morning with several tweets that the dead Chiefs player is Jovan Belcher. Police have not confirmed this information.
We’ll have more info as it becomes available. However if this is true, our condolences to Jovan and his girlfriend’s family.

According to TMZ reports:
Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher and girlfriend Kasandra Perkins were an extremely happy couple … this according to Kasandra’s family, who says news of the alleged murder/suicide this morning came as an “utter shock.”
Members of Kasandra’s family tell TMZ … Jovan and Kasandra always seemed to be in love. In fact, we’re told when Kasandra got pregnant, she and Jovan were “ecstatic.” The family says ever since the baby was born in September, the two couldn’t have seemed happier together.
The 22-year-old’s family says they have NO IDEA why the relationship took a tragic turn this morning — when Jovan allegedly shot and killed Kasandra before taking his own life — and news of their deaths was both devastating and unexpected.
Jovan started playing with the Chiefs in 2009 — and Kasandra, who is originally from Texas moved to Missouri to be with him.
Damn, this crazy, selfish, son of a beyotch kills himself and the mother of this 3-month old child? Although there is no plausible justification for this, there MUST have been something that led this tragedy. Hopefully the investigation provides some answers for both families.
