Diddy & Ciroc To Pick up the Cab Fare on New Year’s Eve

Diddy and Ciroc are offering up free cab rides on New Year’s Eve:
Rap impresario and vodka pitchman Sean (Diddy) Combs wants New Yorkers to party on New Year’s Eve, so he’s offering to pay for the cab-fare to help tipsy revelers get home safe.
The hip-hop honcho and Ciroc premium vodka will announce Tuesday they are teaming up with the city Taxi & Limousine Commission to give away thousands of free cab rides to ring in 2009.
“New York is the world’s most iconic New Year’s Eve city, so let’s lead by example and show everyone that a sophisticated holiday celebration doesn’t just end when the ball drops, but when everyone gets home safely,” Combs said.
Thousands of $15 debit cards that can be redeemed for single taxi rides will be handed out by Ciroc street teams in Times Square and in Chelsea beginning at 11 p.m. Wednesday night.
The cards will be doled out until 3 a.m. New Year’s Day, or until the supply runs out.
Damn, Diddy and Ciroc are really going after that New Year’s ball hard with the milli they put up and now this. Hmmm…do ya’ll think they would give the same type of effort and stacks to help inner city kids get the best education possible?

diddy is *****hole of the century, but real talk, the man is indeed a marketing genius who is for the people, and he does his good deeds in the biggest and most beneficial way, however few and far between they may be. i don’t ever see Camel or bugs monkey doing things like this for the people. so Diddy definitely gets props for this.

new yorkers get their drunk behinds home in the comfort of a cab…that means no waiting for the bus or train, and being able to be driven right to the front door. so tell me, which one would you rather take? leave diddy alone, i believe that he’s a good dude.

This is a stroke of marketing genius. Good for Diddy and Ciroc for making a positive contribution to New Yorkers that is also aligned with the company’s business – get drunk on Ciroc and get a free cab ride home. What does the education of inner city schoolchildren have to do with anything? That’s the responsibility of the government (using our tax dollars) not the job of a liquor company.
