Pop sensation Rihanna has been tapped to headline the NFL’s Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash along with Fall Out Boy, Lifehouse, and Enrique Iglesias. The two night event is set to take place at the Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida on Jan. 29 to kick off Super Bowl XLIII, which takes place on Feb. 1.
Rihanna should feel right at home along with those other cornball acts. Honestly, we’re completely baffled by the amount of exposure this jawn gets.

Rihanna is young and she’s still growing – she’s gonna be just fine. Her voice is different which isn’t a bad thing. Rhianna has a cross over sound, she yodels a little , it’s a weird voice -it different that’s all. There’s very few power house voices- Patti, Whitney pre-crack. Ms. Ross nor Ms Jackson are power house singers, but there’s an aura about them that make them interesting. I don’t think Rihanna goes out of her way looking for the Media to take a picture….you guys put her out there. I saw her sing acapell with just a guitar and she sounded beautiful….I think she’s interesting and different….and she has is not a puppet…. Beyonce, is very one-dimensional….she’s played this beauty queen role so long in her career, she just looks corny now. If anyone is FAUX-edgy it’s Beyonce- what’s up with the pompadour???? Am I the only one who wishes music would go back to the day when singers could sing? Patti. Anita. Aretha. Karen White. En Vogue. Someone above said they don’t believe in smoke and mirrors and unfortunately that is all she is. The only reason she gets all this attention is BECAUSE of her domintrix look, which appeals to perverts. THE GIRL IS BEAUTIFUL, don’t get me wrong but she is talentless. She will have her few years of shine, (i.e. Ashanti, C*****ie, Ciara, whichever simmons girl, etc.). She w/continue to shine now, but her time will p*****. I hate to admit it, but I get the fascination with Rihanna.
She is very, very pretty. Her voice is different, not great, but different. She is trying (and succeeding) to be different. Her fashions sense is always on point and you get the impression that what you see is what you get, no tricks (she doesn’t have a power machine/abnoxious father or mother behind her).
I agree that there are more talented acts out there (Brandy comes to mind), but everybody deserves their time in the limelight. It is Rihanna’s time now, next year or the year after, it will be somebody else’s.

Last time I checked GGGB was at 6.8 million worldwide after (1) a standard edition (2) a deluxe edition (3) first re-release (4) second re-release. Let us not forget a third dance re-release is due in January.
DIL is on well over 7 million worldwide and still selling over five years after its release. Let’s not forget this has been achieved WITHOUT any nonsense re-releases or nonsense deluxe editions. Let’s also not forget that DIL hit number one in more countries than GGGB.
If you want to talk about IASF, Bee went platinum in a month. Rihanna has only just gone twice platinum. Beyonce will murder Rihanna’s USA sales in a quater of the time AND have sustained sales as there are some monster singles yet to be released.
It’s all well and good being a flavor of the month ‘It Girl’, but when the lights go out and the curtains close, everyone will remember Beyonce as the iconic Queen of R&B. Beyonce will continue to be succesful and I’ll be buying her greatest hits album in a few years and will never buy a Rihanna greatest hits. Let’s not forget Rihanna is on her third solo too so we’d expect a greatest hits to be starting to take shape for release after another three or so. What songs are going to be on there? She ain’t no Mariah. And snap. Beyonce’s already had a greatest hits album with Destiny’s Child.
I’m a Beyonce fan yes, but I’m not a Rihanna hater. Kudos to her for being marketed well and for working what she has. It’s just a pity her type of career is not a sustainable one.

Beyonce I think took her fans for granted and just stayed the same. She became boring and predictable! While Rihanna switch it up and put out good music, different videos, switch up her hairstyle and her clothes game. I think Bey stayed the same because in the music business whenever a “formula” works they keep feeding it to the public until we throw up.
That’s why at 1st they were trying to squeeze Rihanna into a Beyonce mold. But then brilliantly she broke away from that and jacked Fefe Dobson’s style and made it her own. And that became Hot!!!
Now the most Ironic thing is that with the whole Sasha thing now they’re sort of trying to fit Beyonce into a semi-Rihanna mold.
But in the music industry they are never rying to reinvent the wheel. They look to see what the trend is and they copy it.
