Kendrick Lamar Asks Janet Jackson To Appear In “Poetic Justice” Video

New kid on the mainstream block Kendrick Lamar is setting his hopes high for the video of the next single from his notoriously popular sophmore album Good Kid, m.A.A.d city.

The single, titled “Poetic Justice,” samples veteran superstar popstress Janet Jackson’s “Anytime, Any Place,” and the song title is an ode to the infamous character she played opposite Tupac Shakur in the movie of the same name. So, naturally, Kendrick is hoping to get Janet involved for the video.

Kendrick Lamar sampled Janet Jackson’s classic track “Any Time, Any Place” and used the title of her 1993 film for his “Poetic Justice” single, and the good kid, m.A.A.d city rapper is hoping that the iconic star will agree to cameo in his video to accompany the track.

“That’ll be a blessing,” Kendrick told MTV News Friday, of potentially having Janet appear in the video for the Drake-featured song. To show that he was serious, Kendrick put in a plea to Janet on camera, asking her to skip the middle men and work with him directly.

“Janet, c’mon, Janet. No paperwork with the managers, contact the managers. This is artist to artist,” he pleaded into the camera. “This is a young boy that looked up to you for years. Please, yeah, video, Janet Jackson ‘Poetic Justice.’ It’ll only be right.”

Now this one “rumor” we’d hope to see come true. Do you think Ms. Jackson if ya nasty should team up with Kendrick for the “Poetic Justice” video?
