Everything Must Go: Suge Knight’s Effects to be Auctioned

This could be an auction we all may want to avoid at all costs:
A trove of unreleased recordings by Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg and Death Row artists is due to go on the block at a Jan. 15 auction of the rap label’s catalogue. But some potential bidders are said to be worried about crossing ex-Death Row boss Marion (Suge) Knight.
Knight was forced to surrender the catalogue in 2006 when he declared bankruptcy. Chapter 11 trustee Todd Nielsen tells us that, even though earlier catalogue deals fell through, the recent discovery of “thousands” of tracks should stir new interest.
Another source warns that “it could be a tough sale. Some people don’t want to go near the catalogue because they think Suge still believes it’s his.” Lydia Harris, who helped found Death Row, recalls Knight’s anger when a judge awarded her a $107 million default settlement after she sued Knight. At a Jan. 10, 2007, court hearing, she says, Knight told her, “You dead, bitch.”
Harris reported the alleged threat to the judge, but Knight was not detained. Knight’s rep, Melanie Bonvicino, says, “He has no recollection of that day.” As Knight waits to see whether Vegas prosecutors will revive a recently dismissed assault case against him, Harris has launched her own label, Lady Boss Entertainment, and is working on a memoir, “Married to the Game.” She says: “I’m not scared of Suge. I think he knows I didn’t do anything wrong.”
We think we’ll just stick with the music we already have from Tupac and Snoop if it means we can avoid having the rabid brown bear, that doubles as Suge Knight, after us. Yeah, that seems like the safe thing to do.
As for Lydia Harris, she spoke exclusively to Bossip to let us know about her book that details her Death Row experiences. Although she wouldn’t give up all of the juicy info, she did say that the book tells us “where the bodies are buried.” We’ll pray she lives long enough for it to be released. SMH
