Barack Obama got jacked by a hacker:
Someone hacked into President-elect Barack Obama’s Twitter account and sent out false “tweets” offering $500 worth of free gas in exchange for filling out a questionnaire. Twitter is a social networking service that allows users to keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to the question: What are you doing today?
More than 155,000 users follow Obama’s updates and received the following questionnaire: “What is your opinion on Barack Obama? Take the survey and possibly win $500 in free gas.”
The site, which allows users only 140 characters per post, addressed the hacking situation in the following statement: “A number of high-profile Twitter accounts were compromised this morning, and fake/spam updates were sent on their behalf. We have identified the cause and blocked it. We are working to restore compromised accounts.”
What the hell is our tax money being spent on? The gubment better get this cyber-foolery in check pronto. We wouldn’t be surprised one bit if this little stunt was pulled off by some zitty-faced fat child cooped up in his mom’s basement.

Update on the Burris controversy:
Senate officials this morning rejected Roland Burris’s effort to be seated as the successor to President-elect Barack Obama, telling the former Illinois attorney general that he lacked the requisite approval of state officials to be sworn in with the rest of the cl***** of 2008 in today’s launch of the 111th Congress.
With a stand-off remaining among Illinois officials over Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s effort to appoint Burris to Obama’s seat, Secretary of the Senate Nancy Erickson instructed Burris in a closed-door meeting that he would not be seated.

WASHINGTON – Despite the economic hard times, money keeps pouring in for President-elect Barack Obama’s inaugural festivities.
The inaugural committee has raised at least $27 million. Most of that has come in over the past three weeks.
Roughly 2,000 donors are helping to finance the Jan. 20 inaugural celebration. At least 378 gave the maximum $50,000. They include actors Halle Berry and Samuel L. Jackson, Hollywood producer Jeffrey Katzenberg, director Steven Spielberg and entertainer Barbra Streisand.
