I want to give an intelligent response to all your generalizations about ‘all the women’ that frequent this site and their playful responses to the above post as well as many others. I can honestly say for myself that I used to find AI attractive when I was very young. I’m almost thirty now and I don’t find him attractive anymore. It’s just a light-hearted and playful way of me really admiring a man’s swagger or appearance. I’m sure that there are plenty of women out there who may actually go there with any given athlete, rapper, movie-star, etc. However, speaking for myself and alot of women that I am acquainted with like myself, I can say that every single sexual innuendo a woman may make on these gossip sites does not define the thought process or everyday lifestyle of the average american black woman. If you like white women then that’s just fine, but don’t say that the responses on this website are what makes you date them, that’s just closed-minded and ignorant. No disrespect. And, it needs to be stated that there are plenty of white women out there that are slutting it up on a daily so being a slut or whore has nothing to do with race. From my perspective, it was more about the infatuation with fake thugs, as I stated no man 160lbs or less is scaring me. But most of the sistas I know are with someone living in that image, and AI is a perfect example of this he is well over 30 and acting like kids in high school, hell Lebron is more mature acting on and off the court.

That’s perfectly fine if that’s how you feel. I’ve dated a couple of white collar white men myself and the experience was ok. All I am saying is that it doesn’t matter how much money you make or how beautiful you are, being a whore has no boundaries. And, being a ‘white collar’ corporate woman myself I know plenty of ‘Beckys’ that will drop their drawers in a heart beat for a black man and anyone else who wants it. I’m definitely not checkin’ for the type of image that is considered thuggish b/c I am a grown azz woman and I’m sure that there are some women who still are. But, there is a level of maturity that I have reached and I feel strongly that if you want to date someone outside of your race, make the reason behind it be because you like that person or find that person attractive. I will try and frame an intelligent response to your answer as well. I agree that my comments were a generalization of “Black Women” as a group, but my comments were VERY consistent with the female opinions on this site.

I recently read a blog directed at African Americans which asked who the average African American woman today would be most interested in: 1) A Young Barack Obama; or 2) A Lil Wayne type cat. It is sad to say that I feel most African American women would go with #2.

I am speaking from my experiences too. I am 27 and now an attorney, but growing up, it seemed that proper diction and smart dressing was the ultimate repallant for Black women. However now that I am grown and doing ok for myself, I get angry gazes from Black women when I am with my white GF.

Honestly this isn’t really about me, but I do wonder about the comments about A.I. With the exception of having millions of dollars and a sweet crossover, he is generally a bad human being. He is uneducated; has tatoos like he is in prison; has extremly violent tendencies; a poor work ethic; and a criminal record. Yet, blk women on here are saying “ooooh he can get it.”

I dunno, I think the comments speak for themselves. Blk women (on this site) have very poor standards for the men in their lives.

I honestly respect what you said, and I’ve noticed alot of immature black women of our time do tend to fall for the thuggish appeal. I am a very successful and highly educated woman getting ready to start on my PhD and I can tell you that I am emphatically NOT attracted to the lil’ wayne types. I find Barack Obama extremely appealing and wish that more black men carried themselves with the class and swagger that he has. My fiance’ is a very attractive, smart, and respectable man who was raised in a nuclear family with both parents a brother and a dog…lol. You know the typical Cosby image, and that’s the type of man that I’ve always wanted and ended up being blessed with. But, to be fair, I did go through a period of time when I found roughnecks a little sexy because of their edge. But, I was young and didn’t yet know myself and what things in life I wanted that I knew would last. Believe me, my desire for a roughneck soon fizzled when I grew up! In regards to this post and alot of others, I know I have jokingly made remarks on how s3xy a brotha is. But, as stated previously I used to find AI attractive, but I don’t anymore. I think that if you want to be with your white GF and she makes you happy that should be the end all be all. I am NOT opposed to interracial dating as long as it’s there because you like that PERSON and not because you have a problem with a few choice people of one race and decide to be against ALL of them. The only reason why I felt compelled to respond is because there are alot of black women like myself who are intelligent, educated, cultured and looking for a man like yourself (as you sound like a very good catch). You should not make assumptions about another man’s character if your not acquainted personally with him. You take the media’s theories and his past indiscretions and perceive him to be a bad human being.

Did you know last year a woman who was in a car accident was stranded and A.I. came to her aid and helped her to safety. This was in virginia in 2007. If he was such a deplorable human being, he would of kept going.

Did you know A.I. tkes his sneakers off after every game and gives it to someone in the audience.

Did you know that A.I. paid for a man’s funeral whom he did not know because he was killed over A.I.’s trademark sneakers. He didn’t have to do that.

You can’t determine this man’s character by his apperance, missing practice, or his past indiscretions. Nobody is perfect everyone has flaws. The media focuses on the negative. Never the positive that this man does.

A.I. is not a violent man. I have seen him on that court get hammered repeatedly and just dust it off and play. He has not done prison time for violence, and his past charges were dropped.

I do agree that these women are loose and don’t care about the sanctity of marriage which is deplorable, but I will not disparage the man’s character and call him a “bad human being” because of women who have no repsect for themselves or a marriage.

For you few broke dudes up in here talking about “he’s a shoot first PG” or “you dont get a ring because you are not a pass first PG”..Iverson is a combo gaurd, he’s one of the most unique players the L has ever seen. He is basically a SG in a PG’s body and usually plays the SG position. And if passing first is the key to winning a championship…then why doesn’t Steve Nash or Jason Kidd have a championship ring yet? Should they think about changing their style of play as well then? GTFOH!!

Iverson was a 76er for almost 11 years…he had a good run to the NBA Finals back in 2001 (in which they ran up against the dominate Lakers team), but he has honastly never had a team that was built good enough to win a championship (I remember Charles Barkeley saying that it is not Iversons fault he doesn’t have a ring because he has barely gotten legit chances to win one). Unless you were on the SPURS or LAKERS (who pretty much dominated the league for a decade of AI’s career) you were not getting ring..infact, there was only two other teams that have gotten rings over the past 12 years besides the Lakers and Spurs and that is the Pistons and the Celtics (last year). So lets stop acting as if Iverson had so many oppurtunities to get a ring, and lets also stop acting as if he’s the only star player who still doesn’t have one. Just thought id drop some NBA knowlege on some of you hating ass people of bossip.

Lastly, Iverson is a fly dude..regardless if he had money or not, he is a good looking guy. So unlike some, im sure he would never have no problem getting the ladies.
