Here’s actress Naturi Naughton talking about her experience of playing Bossip’s Knifed Up Chick of the Year, Lil Kim in Notorious.
She wasn’t the only one dying to do a sex scene with Jamal “Gravy” Woolard. Pop the hood to hear her do a verse of “Get Money” and discover which broads were denied a chance to play “Brooklyn’s finest.”
Naturi went on the Ed Lover Morning show to discuss how Lil Kim’s distance to the film has affected her and does her best Lil Kim impression.

I thought that she gave a great interview. She was poised, well spoken, and she looked beautiful. I remember her from 3LW. They blindsided her and forced her out of the group. She didn’t falter one bit. She handled it with dignity and grace and headed straight for Broadway. She’s done well and I think that she’s one to watch.

I doubt I see this movie but I don’t knock peeps that do. Maybe they need to see or have some sort of closure or closeness to the whole Big story.
I agree with Lil Kim’s interview of Naturi she said if she was so much a seasoned actress she should have came to Kim and learned more about who Kim was and her antics. Ms Wallace and Faith are the one’s who put this story together.
Not Kim, J. Mafia or even Puff who would probably had more insite hell even Chyna Doll or Baltimore. Faith and Ms Wallace have very little respect of his life’s counts (only to a certain degree)
My only Big moment is when he came to our dorm and shut that shyt down back in the mid- ninties him and J. Mafia! Big was a cool cat and YES girls was on his team pretty ones…YUCK (R.I.P)
Are the writers at Bossip clueless?
Bossip is trippin as usual, I think it was a very good interview and she was well spoken and seemed like she had a great time making the movie. I’m definitely going to see the movie because BIG and Kim were bumpin hard in my lil Geo Tracker at the time and how could I NOT go see it??? Who cares if Kim’s views aren’t associated, she coulda been spoke out about it, don’t wait til now when there’s a movie being made. You’ve had 10 years to say your peace, so I don’t blame Mrs. Wallace for doing it. RIP Big Poppa, you are missed in the game for real!!!
I don’t know the legal aspects of the movie industry, but I’m quite sure that lil kim had to signs off on the rights to allow her life to be also portrayed in the Biggie movie. I don’t think one can just tell someone’s life story without their permission. Lil kim must have signed off on the project without really looking at the script so she could get paid and be out. Now all this drama about going after faith and biggie’s mom by lil kim is crazy. Lil kim should have known that her chances for an accurate portrayal of herself were slim when the story is being told by the wife and mother of your deceased lover.

Kim should have been consulted it is her life. If i dies and a movie was made about my life my mother would only make it the way SHE saw the folks in my life. I heard the interview this morning and she was very humble about it…she said she auditioned and it was very hard for her to do so and she rocked her version of Get Money… got a lil’ gully with it too…

Unlike others, I believe a lot of people will see this movie. The energy Biggie, Puff, Faith and Mary J had at that time was revolutionary for a lot of people.

I don’t think Naturi is that far off from looking like lil kim. During that time lil kim was darker before she started bleach her skin. On top of that like another poster said earlier, I’m pretty sure lil kim signed a contract in order to have her character included. If not then lil kim would be in court right now suiing instead of running to hip hop sites complaining about the movie.

I actually LIKE Gravy in this role! I think they picked the right person. BIG is dead and he mimicks him well. But the chick was RIGHT! Kim is still around and Kim dont even look like Lil Kim anymore…yall know what I mean? Its going to be hard to play her and pass for the character. But she really is trying and people should STOP HATING! This film will NOT be perfect! It cant be perfect.Faith and Kim are still around so it may be hard to look at those two and actually see the people there playing in there characters and people are being really rough for no reason…
I dont think a more seasoned actress should have played her…Cause the actress or star might have overshadowed the character.They were RIGHT by casting new people and giving NEW young african americans a chance at stardom. Its the same recycled black actors/actresses in EVERY film cause they sale tickets…(Megan, Taraji, Vivica, Saniah Lathan…ect) Its the same ones and we need some new blood and I think they did RIGHT by casting up and comers.
I do think the girl whos playing faith would have made a better Charlie Baltimore than Faith Evans.

Its too soon to have a film, this was a big deal and only about 10 yrs ago. They should have waited maybe 20yrs later and let the characters and celebs fade away and bring them back and people would appreciate it more.
It was YEARS before there was a Tina Turner story or a Temptations movie or Dreamgirls…
Yall know what I mean…Most of yall cant relate to the characters cause the originals are still around and Its just too soon to capture the essence of it especially when…Kim, Lil cease, Faith ect are still around…

Naturi did a great job, they did an excellent job, she was perfect for this role….. im upset kim didnt have any part..and I feel she shouldnt complain but be modest since she chose not to participate…. I wouldve been honored a movie was starring me..and would have gladly worked with the actress to perfect my chararcter. Naturi good job!!!

the characters dont have to EXACTLY look like the real people…its about capturing the essence of the real person. i really dont know who else could have played kim. the only people that will understand this movie and the characters are the people who were old enough to remember the 2pac and biggie era. all you teenagers have no clue what ya talking bout. i remember when and where i was when pac and biggie died. youngins dont know THE lil kim or PUFF DADDY…diddy or P.diddy. people also have to remember that this is NOT lil kim’s story, faith nor diddy’s. its big’s story. he is the main character.
meagan goode is attractive… yes. but yall didn’t have to say she’s prettier than lil kim… that really wasnt cool at all. thats why she went and got work done to herself now. ignorant people always trying to put people down. lil kim is a beautiful sister and yall need to stop nit picking on celebrities who have way more than you’ll ever have and look at yall selves in the mirror for a change. people who arent happy with themselves usually are the ones criticizing people and spewing negative comments on the internet.

The Man – Lil’ Kim WAS approached by Naturi to gain more insight about her, thus enabling Naturi to give more credibility to the role. Lil’ Kim chose NOT to participate or contribute to the film.
While it may suck for lil’ kim to feel she has been erroneously portrayed, she should have opened her damn mouth when she had the chance!
The real question is how many ppl going to actaully see the movie in the theaters, how many will run in horror when stupid nucca start shooting at the screen, and how many are going to buy the bootleg from the Nigerian on the corner?
lil kim WAS beautiful… until she decided to cut herself up… she should have enough self-confidence and self-esteem(as all women and people in general should) to know she looked good… but hey, thats what the fame will do to ya I guess… On another note, Megan Good is bad! way hotter than Kim… even when she did look good… not to take anything from her in those days, but I’ll pick Megan over her anyday of the week!

My crabs in a bucket. I saw the film last night at a private screening. I went in with low expectations and left drying my eyes. Shit is official. Hate all day but ya man’s is haunting as BIG. Derek does Puff to a t and Kim’s dissoriented ass should be hyped that an actress of Nauri’s charachter held her down so tight. Go and see the movie first THEN hate all you like.

the actress that played faith, I think was too attractive so she lucked up.
