Halle Berry is under fire for making some questionable comments on Jay Leno:
The Oscar-winning star, on the show to promote her movie “Things We Lost in the Fire,” was showing Leno and his audience images of herself on her computer using the Mac program Photo Booth, which distorts images like a carnival fun-house mirror.
According to one audience member, “She introduced the first photo by saying, ‘Here’s where I look like my Jewish cousin!’ – it was a picture of her with a huge, distorted nose. No one laughed, and Jay nervously said, ‘I’m glad you said that and not me.’ When the show aired, they cut out her ‘Jewish’ comment and added a laugh track to the bit.”

but i thought her mother was of english/christian ancestry. regardless, if adam sandler showed a pictureof him with an afro and said “this is when i was black”, i would not find that offensive.

She’s been profusely apologizing, saying she later realized she could see where “some people may have been offended.” It’s always been my understanding that she’s never had contact with her white family – her mother was disowned for marrying a black man. She says she got the idea for the joke from her three Jewish girls who work for her – they were looking through pictures for the joke segment when one said: “This could be your Jewish cousin.” It sounds like she was set up – she took the bait….

Funny how when she made the nose comment the story say’s “No one laughed”
Yet, when ole boy who played ‘Kramer’ went on his tirade @ the Laugh Factory in LA he straight started calling folks the N word & the video clearly show some audience memebers laughing & chuckling at first.
It wasn’t til black audience members got up & started to leave that the whites realized “this ish is going to be trouble” & began heckling him!

October 23, 2007. Today Show host Al Roker was one of the first public figures to call for Don Imus to be fired for his racially insensitive comments. He’s also been outspoken critic of hip hop artists who use the N Word. But MediaTakeOut.com has learned that privately Al Roker is a lot more accepting of racially insensitive remarks – especially when the people making them are his friends.
On Friday, the Friar’s Club in New York City sponsored a roast of comedian Pat Cooper – with Al Roker a guest of honor. And during the roast, MediaTakeOut.com spies were shocked when comedians began openly used the N word.
But there’s more. Not only did Al, who sat on the head table during the roast, condone his pals’ use the N Word – he actually enjoyed it. According to an attendee at Friday’s roast, Al Roker laughed uncontrollably when the comedians used the dreaded word. The witness told MediaTakeout.com, “[Comedians] Gilbert Gotfried, Pat Cooper, and Lisa Lampenella repeatedly used the N word … and every time they did, Al Roker seemed to laugh harder and harder.”
And another attendee was equally disgusted with Al Roker’s blatant hypocrisy. That onlooker told MediaTakeOut.com, “White [comedians] were using the dreaded ‘N word’ and [Al] just sat there and laughed. He showed his true character.”

I’m Jewish and wasn’t offended by Halle’s comment. It may be perceived by some as tacky but I don’t think she meant anything by it.
Jewish/Judaism is a religion, ethnic group, culture not a race.
Since when is Halle’s mother Jewish? She could very well have a Jewish cousin, Whoopi and others do. Who knows it could be her Jewish cousin Shaniquah Shottenstein from Shaker Heights.

For the Yiddish lesson the word is goy not goya (gentile;shyksa or shiksa-female gentile; *****ut-male gentile). The other is scvartza/h or schwartz not schwatza (N word)—I do give you serious points for trying.
Ashkenasi Jews are from Western Europe. Liberal/Reform Jews. Sephardic Jews are from Eastern Europe or the Mediterranean area. Predominantly Chasidic, Orthodox some Conservative.
