Idaho School Official Apologizes For Racist Comments
Does this look like the face of a racist to you?!?!?
Via KREM News:
A Coeur d’Alene School District official said he made a mistake when he made a comment about President Obama some people consider racist. Brent Regan, a business entrepreneur, was sworn in as the newest member of the school board in January. He represents Zone 1.
Regan was at a legislative forum at the American Legion in Post Falls when, during a discussion on gun control, he brought up a conversation he had with his wife. Regan conveyed the conversation to people at the meeting saying, in part, “‘they can’t figure out what an assault weapon is. It’s just black and scary.’ And [his wife] looks and me and says ‘Well, so is Obama.’”
He told KREM 2 News over the phone the context of his comment was to illustrate there is no concise definition of an assault rifle. He said he didn’t want to hurt anyone and will learn from his mistake. Regan also said neither he nor his wife is a racist.
School District officials said Regan’s comments are his own personal opinion and do not reflect the District or the School Board. He was at the meeting representing the School District. The other members of the School board will decide if there should be any disciplinary actions against Regan. Tony Stewart, of the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations, called Regan’s comments “ignorant’ and “degrading”.
If these people think President Obama is “black and scary” then we can’t even imagine their reaction to some for real for real scary Deebo-like cats. SMH.
