@akeys . . . all the women you mention are light bright or white. The warranty is short-lived. 10 years or less on looks. After that, it’s down hill. NeNe is over 40 years old and her skin is in tack she looks lovely.

A woman who choses to wear a weave does not want to be white. Women of all races are wearing weaves.
I am a hairstylist for many years and quite frankly a lot of women need it. Some women have problems, slow growing hair, breakage, thin hair, bald spots, and split ends. It is her personal choice to do so and she looks great. I love the color, texture, and the tones as well as the cut. It suits her face and her hairstylist did a great job.
A lot of you just want to attack women who wear weaves even when it is styled nicely. It is ones own personal choice. They are not trying to be white. Black women have been straightening their hair forever.
Before relaxers, straightening combs were used. Before weaves, wigs were worn. Afro’s were popular for a short period of time in the 70’s and quickly discarded for relaxers in the 80’s.
I seriously doubt if Coretta S. King, and Malcolm X wife in the 50’s were trying to be white when they were pressing their hair straight and wearing wigs.
Weaves are just a quick alternative. Stop trying to read into it, by saying black women are trying to be white. No woman wants to walk around with thin short hair that won’t grow. It is quite shameful.

I usually don’t respond to people who address all women as *****es and Hoes. I think it is deplorable to label all women as such.
I weave all types of hair. White, Black, and Spanish. Some of these women need a weave. Some of the white women have thin hair and they need it. Black women have all different textures, soft, wavy, kinky, curly, extra kinky.
The most difficult hair to work with is the very kinky course kind that resembles brillo. Some black women don’t use chemicals, which leaves their hair very course, hard to comb, and no way to style it.
The afro is not coming back and black women will not wear their hair in that state.
Some black women have soft, natural hair, that only requires blow drying , and a flat iron.
Some black women do not have the desire to wear their hair natural, straighten it with an iron and then as soon as the rain and humidity come it shrinks.
Black women chose to relax or straighten their hair because in doing so more styles are attainable. The only alternatives for natural hair are braids, cornrows, dreds, and a press and curl.
Weaves cost between $150.00 and up. Women can afford it if they need it.

Furthermore, I reside in New York. I don’t do hairstyles that are red, yellow and purple and plastered down on your head. My styles are tasteful, and precise. My clientele consists of professional women who are gainfully employed.
By the way, NeNe hair stylist did a great job. The color is nice and so is the cut. I don’t like it when a stylist did a damn good job and someone criticizes it to prove a point because they don’t like weaves. Hair styling is a form of art, and we work hard for our paper. I give credit when it is due.

The trial court awarded her custody of the children and $2,142.87 a month in child support. It also awarded her a division of the marital property totaling more than $1.1 million and including a lump sum payment of $775,000. It gave her half of the marital portion of three NFL retirement plans. But the court did not award alimony.

She should go back to school and try to get an education. This is more than enough for her children’s future.
