Kerry was worried that we would all think Barry O was smashin’ her Hollyweird cakes to smithereens in real life…

Kerry Washington Says She’s Glad The ‘Scandal’ President Isn’t Black

Black Hollyweird A-lister Kerry Washington is layered up in leather and showing some skin on the cover of the March 2013 issue of Ebony Magazine.

In the issue, the superfly ‘Scandal’ leading lady dishes on her role as Olivia Pope and feeling relieved that her creepin’ Presidential co-star wasn’t black.

Kerry tells Ebony :

“I was a little concerned because [the character has] a scandalous relationship with the [occupant of the] White House,” the actress said.

“I thought, ‘If the president on the show is Black, I will not do the show.’ Because to me, it was too important a moment. I didn’t want to do anything that compromised my relationship with the [president] or that made it seem like I had an insider view on the Obama presidency.

I thought that would be so disrespectful and so against all the work that I had done.”

Hmmm. Could you imagine ‘Scandal’ being the same with a black President? Would you still watch?
