It just amazes me. I know love is love and all but 70%, that’s right I said 70% of all Black American women are single, yet it seems many black men of status have non-black mates. With 70% of Black women being single, and with all of the variety of colors, hair textures, facial features, and body types of black women in this country, so many black men of status can’t seem to find any?
Let’s compare…..black people make up a relatively small portion of Hollywood. How many Hollywood black men have non-black wives? Now how many Hollywood white men have black wives? I wonder how close the numbers are.
I am not coming from a place of my believing non-black is not good enough for black men. I am just wondering if it is a coicidence that so many black men in Hollywood and sports, have non-black wives. Just looking at that photo and considering the small percentage of black men in Hollywood, half of the In Living Color cast is with non-black women. Is Jim Carrey with a black woman? Is it all a coincidence?

OOOOHHHH, so it’s a regional thing. So that’s why Leading white men having black wives, is not as common as leading black men with white wives in Hollywood. I wonder how many white players in the NFL have black wives compared to black players having non-black wives. I wonder how many white players in professional baseball have black wives compared to their Black team mates with white wives. The NBA, I wonder how many of the white players have black wives compared to the black players with white wives. Maybe it’s because they all live in California.
Reverse the tables. What if 70% of all white women in America were single, but the most successful of their choice of white men, were finding black wives. White women would be talking about it.
This has nothing to due with being against interracial dating. I just find it striking that so many black men in Hollywood, compared to their white counterparts have wives of a different race, considering the small percentage of black men in Hollywood.
One more thing. Since the 80’s I’ve always found it interesting how women of all races are seen in the “Black” videos. I have always had a problem with that as well, not because I don’t think other races are good enough, but because Black women were never used in “white” videos. White women have even played the lead in many black videos. But with the exception of 1 or 2, black women were not used in videos of white artists, let alone played the lead. Again, my issue is Black women don’t seem to get the same respect.
I feel the same with famous black men with non-black women. It’s not that I feel the women are inferior it’s just since black people are a minority in this country, it’s little odd that black men of a certain type have non-black spouses compared to white men of a certain type with black women.
First of all we get so caught with successful black men who date outside there race but that is really only a small percentage. We sistas need to stop rounding up that number because there are way more black successful men who have black wives. We get so focus on the ones that have white wives we think it is all of our brothas and it is not. We all know that if a black man marries a white woman it is his lost!
Who really wants weak ***** men anyway? Let the weaklings be. He played that GAY role way to well and it is what it is “He is GAY with a wife in my view”….not really funny but HELLA CORNEY!!!!

Youre spending too much time on this. Yes, a disproportionate # of rich black men have non-black wives, but statistically less than 10% of all married black men are married to non-black women.
So theres a whole world out there of black men outside of these gossip blogs. Too many black people tend to judge black men as a whole by what they see these celebrity black men doing.
And why is is that with black women… there’s certain brothas they’d never give any play, because he’s “corny”, “not my type”, etc. , but as soon as they see him with a white woman they get mad??
Somebody explain that to me.
There should be some type of barometer that measures how many out of the pool of black men that marry white women do black women actually want anyway? I bet you would find that number to be extremely low.
People should stop believing that everytime they see a single sister it’s b/c she can’t find a man. Some of us finally realize we have a choice, and choose to focus on things other than men, as hard as that may be to believe.

@ Vjhe….I live in L.A./Hollywood and this is what I make of the whole interacial thing….
1. I don’t have 1 female friend. I have almost all black male friends and they tell me they (actually only 1 or 2 of my many black male friends) date specifically white women because they are raised to be subservient and for some reason, that is what a LOT of black men are looking for. I don’t know WHY a lot of black men feel they need to be worshiped and the women they are with should just do as they say, but that turns them on so hey…I don’t care. Also, white women are more free with their money than black women and they have to do a LOT LESS to earn it from them so basically they just wana be able to ***** all over someone without them saying too much. Just lots of tears lol.
2. Most of the black men that date out of their race would NEVER have a chance with me so go ahead
3. I grew up in all white schools. You said yourself that black people make up a very small amount of Hollywood so what do you expect these successful black men to do….go back to the hood or the country to marry Shaniqua who will have them broke and on the street in 2 years because she knows NOTHING about money and won’t let you tell her ***** about it, or Becky who grew up with money, so it doesn’t mean as much to her? When I dated white men, it was because that is ALL I was surrounded by for the most part. Black women/people are NOT given the same opportunities to succeed and be in successful circles of people and we know that!!! But there IS a difference in dating a black man and a white man I will tell you that. Some good and some bad, but there IS a diffeence. I’m that “IGNORANT” poster who said that “75%” of Sistas are single. I did not make that up I saw it on Media Take Out & other Black gossip sites. It’s a true number. Instead of trying to get mad & play it off Sistas need to ask themselves why so many of them are single. Certainly if Sistas are so desirable & eligible men of other races would be fighting each other to marry you & like wise if Brothas are so undesirable % ineligible as most Black women claim why is it so easy for Brothas to marry non Black women? Gee, I cant wait for the day the black man has something to take pride in other than a non-black woman being willing to date or marry him.. I really think black men are at a sad state when the only threads on this blog that end up like this are the interracial ones where the black man wants all this praise for other races of women wanting him. Funny how the threads about black men being bad fathers or going out of jail or with legal issues or unemployed never grab such interest or emotion from black men on this board.. But when you stop and consider he is the only race of man who can’t do better than his own women with the same educational and employment options open to both – or one in three of them are in the criminal/judicial system – and they abandon their children more than other other race of man – or to only be 7% of the country’s population they manage to account for over 50% of the crime that plagues it – or they are the quickest divorced man in the country, perhaps due to the silly self hating reasons they marry – or that more will go to jail than in college – or that he has regressed to the point that noone respects him or his race and are even regressing themselves back in to pre-civil rights insults and racism (i.e. all of these nooses being hung around the country) – or that he is just overall seen as a WEAK JOKE – or that unless he is lucky enough to get a rap or sports contract he will most likely never achieve the success and wealth that other races of men are able to gain from INTELLIGENCE – then you come to see where the only thing he can take pride in is a non black women being willing to use him while he has some money..

That’s not the 1st time I’ve heard a brotha say that. As I get older wisdom allows me to see the bigger picture. The other day I had a house warming gathering which turned into a pow wow of sorts where my male friends gave their perspectives on the dynamics between brothas & sistas. At 1st I went thru my usual thing then as the males were talking I did something different I listened with intent to understand!…
Sisters can sometimes be abrasive but brothas need to realize that we have it harder than other races of women {we do!} we have use that abrasiveness as a gaurd to protect our hearts spirits & souls

Now i know that most of you sistas will always give in to your primordial urges when it comes to the “BAD BOY”, but after a certain age, you’ll have to gather enough discipline to quell those urges and grow-up! The virile nubian king does not exist, superman does not exist, the strong perfect black women does not exist, superwoman does not exist…The only thing that does exist is flawed, imperfect men and women who’ll make mistakes, some minor, some major, but for the most part they’re decent responsible people…So heal your hearts ladies and start looking for normal and reasonable qualities in your prospective mates and hopefully things will workout.
