That’s an understatement. A few months ago we spoke to Keyshia Cole’s sister Neffeteria Pugh about her new literary and music ventures and she shared how she and hubby Soullow were doing their own record label. When we saw the cover art for his new song “Mary and Molly” BOSSIP reached out to him for comment. Peep the artwork below.
Yikes… The Virgin Mary and D-Rugs! We can see how some folks might get upset about that. We asked Soullow why he chose to make such a bold statement and he told BOSSIP:
“I wanted to do something different. I have been doing music for over 12 years now, and I never thought I would come up with something so creative in my mind but it end up being a problem to those who have a strong opinion about their religion. I found the picture caption hilarious and it was creative all at the same time. Its never been done before so why not be that artist to start a new trend instead of following dead ends.”
Well that’s one way to put it. While we had Soullow on the line we couldn’t resist asking what his thoughts on his sister-in-law Keyshia’s recent headline-making Twitter rants.
“She is heavily addicted to social media,” Soullow told BOSSIP. “That’s her only way to communicate with the world at her disposal.”
Soullow tried his best not to badmouth his in-laws though, adding, “I still think that she is successful, she is a thriving musical artist, She’s been nominated for Grammy awards and her music speaks for itself — now the height of her success is a different story. I love my wife Neffeteria and her sister Keyshia is now apart of my life for now so I have to deal with the good, the bad, and the ugly…”
He can say that again!
