The bad thing about a stunt like this is that it denigrates all black women because black women are still not given the same respect afforded other ethnicities of women. No matter how you slice it, we are not a colorblind nation. We are judged initially by preconceived notions and *****umed to be innately inferior in many cases. This only reaffirms those preconceived notions. And black folks are not immune to being influenced by and living down to widely held, wrongheaded beliefs.

To hear the things that black people say about each other is sickening. We call each other *****s and *****es, but we expect different from other people. I think that people want to be treated as individuals and with that being said she has nothing to do with what I do. I think that is the point that one of the members was trying to make not that we should follow after white people but that we should be treated the way they are treated. If a white person does something terrible all of the white people aren’t saying “this white person is making it terrible for all of us.” We need to take responsibility for our own actions and when they attempt to judge our actions as a group, allow them to take a look at themselves. You are never going to be able to control the actions of others.
