Venus and Serena Williams had a photo shoot for ESPN the magazine’s 10th anniversary issue and are looking awfully good. Kudos to the stylist of this shoot because this is the best we’ve seen these ladies look period. Oh yeah, and say what you want about Serena looking like a man, but she is making it rain on them hoes in that dress.

I would hope there’s more to being a woman than being “pretty”. These are too talented, accomplished young women, yet they seem so determined to prove that they are attractive (especially Serena) and often society seems so determined to discredit them by claiming that they are not pretty enough.

Stank you for informing me what website this is for I did not know. Anyway, I actually was talking about in general and yes the media does fixate on looks particularly when it comes to women. I just hate that because so often young girls grow up thinking that no matter how smart, talented, successful they are–they are still failures if they are not considered pretty. I think Venus and Serena suffer a bit from this complex. Especially Serena probably because she’s “thicker” than the white/hollyweird standard. You can tell because sometimes the William’s sisters just try too hard.

I’d like to add that Serena and Venus Williams are two of the most beautiful, strong and proud black women in terms of black women representation. I hate the fact that our people like to reduce Venus and Serena down to their body parts. Yes! Serena has ***** and Venus has leg…but they are so much more than that. The typical crabs in a barrel self-hating nucca tends to forget that they are kick-***** accomplished women who “made it rain on them hoes” in the very white white white world of tennis. That alone makes them some of the baddest chics around. A dope body is a dime a dozen; but what the Venus Sisters have done…no one else has.
I have said this many times on this board that I love Serena. She is so strong. Sportscasters love to front on her and say she is out of shape, but she is by far the strongest female tennis player out right now.
I don’t think anyone is disputing the fact that they are great Tennis Players. This post is not about their tennis. Its about their looks. I have just as much right to comment on their looks as the next person. Just because your opinion may be more favorable, it doesnt mean its right.
I happen to think Venus looks more like a lady while Serena looks like a man. Im entitled to have that opinion.

First of all I don’t give a damn what these women look like, they are the Michael Jordan’s of their sport. People better recognize their legendary status. As for the pic, it is great, but I am surprised Bossip didn’t post more of the pics from the shoot. All the ones I saw were great. I’m personally striving for a Venus body with a Serena ***** when I grow up.
I would just like to say, that I in no way wanted to come across as a man that admires the Williams’ sisters just because of their bodies. I recognize that they have knocked down the doors of the U. S. Open as well as Wimbledon and have served as role models to not just the black woman but women in general. I merely was commenting on those critics who want to say that Serena has a man’s body and Venus is ugly, when in fact it’s their attitude that is unfavorable. Men have always commented on woman’s bodies, truth be told the black woman is more critical of her sista’s body than that of her own. What I have noticed on this comments blog is that a lot of women have been favorable of these girls, which is cool, but the men on here have been more negative, which is sad. I say what I said at my last comment, let’s support the sisters no matter what someone else thinks about them, because they are great role models for men and women. Peace and Love.
