I really like the song, but this video not so much. Mary is my girl, but she could have come harder in this video…add a party scence, old school house party and a few cameos and she would have been set. Mary know she is not that good of a dancer so she should have not went there (LOL)>..

the sad thing is. you ever notice you have more friends when you are depressed and doing what you aren’t suppose to and then as soon as you find happiness and peace your friends leave you. I think the saying is misery loves company…. Well isnt that the same thing with Mary when she was *****ed up and drunk everyone loved her but as soon as she dropped the dead weight the nay sayers start coming out. Truth is once you have peace and happiness more things come your way ie her grammys. At first I didn’t like the song, but every song shouldn’t catch you right off the bat. Some songs are meant to grow on you and this one certainly grew on me! Now I love it and she looks Beautiful in the video! The late 70s early 80s look fits her perfectly!
I LOVE Mary and I am glad that she is in love to a positive man that treats her like the Queen that she is but…..I HATE THIS DAMN SONG!!!! This sounds like something Rihanna/Christina Milan should be singing. I don’t understand how people can like this song and dog Alicia Keys’ song “No One”? I love this song! When I first heard it, I thought it was just alright and just like every other Mary song, the more I listened to it, the more I liked it. She does look kind of look awkward in the beginning of the video, but the rest of the video is hot. The outfits and the hair especially. It looks like Mary has stepped her game up, style wise.

Mary has struggled with drugs and depression for many years. She’s talked about it on Oprah and numerous other occasions, but she says she’s at a new point in her life where she no longer relies on those things and that her faith in God as well as her husband Kendu helped her get there.
Yes!!! I feel “fine” after hearing that song. I guess I’m growing with Mary cause I’m still loving her today as I did in the 90’s. Mary, is just an all around wonderful woman and role model. She is so in a league of her own. Guess I’ll be adding another one to the collection. It’s obvious to me that some of these bloggers are somewhat unhappy with themselves or their personal lives. I’m all about a positive outlook on life. The only way for our people to make progress is make uplifting songs such as this one instead of glorifying that “I’m So Hood!!!” What the hell? When did being “Hood” become “Good?”

Yeah, I like sad Mary music too. She used to be able to make up beat or at least mid tempo music that was still a little sad like “Real Love” and “Be Happy” and “I Can Love You”. I guess those songs aren’t “up tempo” but Mary is a ballader so mid-tempo is as far as she should go un less she is singing the hook on another person’s song or something.

i don’t think people LOVE you and want to be around you when you are depressed and leave when you are happy (it’s usually the opposite). i understand that you are referring to haters and i feel that, but let’s be real: MJB made her career out of p*****ion and pain. People love her b/c they FEEL her and could relate to what she was going through…love/loss, longing, disappointment, whatever. We have happy-go-lucky artists out there-Beyonce, Rihanna, etc who don’t sing about anything with p*****ion/depth-i’m not hating b/c some of their songs are good, but you get my point. So when MJB came out with What’s the 411?, and damn, My Life was and still is my s—, even Share My World…Breakthrough was solid, but this current song just lacks the depth, p*****ion, and meaning that we always expect from MJB. I’m happy that she’s at a good place in her life with a good man and no drugs/drama in her life-that’s beautiful and she deserves it. And many of us can relate to the positive as well. I just think with the changes in the industry she’s trying to stay relevant instead of staying true to the music that makes her MJB. Sing about happiness, love, and having a good time (Be Without You was tight! Who WASN’T jamming to Family Affair when it came out?) but make sure the music is on point while you do it…she may not need Puffy to do that but it sure did help back in the day. This newest song is NOT a strong lead single. It’s not bad, but not fire either.

This song has grown on me. I am a Mary fan my fav mary CD is My Life, but since I’m not always depressed, I don’t expect Mary to be. I will be purchasing her new CD cause there is always enough on an MJB CD to make it worth it. The video doesn’t keep my attention and I wish they would edit out her talking intro!

Mary has many different music styles and it does not hurt to hear her HAPPY at times, people can’t be sad and miserable all the damn time, would you want to be?? I loved this song the very first time I heard it! There are enough “*****z ain’t sh*t” songs out there to last an eternity! This is a feel good song about being happy where you are right now! It doesn’t mean Mary won’t have her rainy days, but she is definitely celebrating the confident woman she has become!
