Jack Sutton Fine Jewelry in New Orleans is suing Lil’ Wayne for $146,000 he still owes on a $138,000 diamond ring and $32,000 gold-and-diamond necklace purchase:
The handmade platinum ring contains an 11.55 carat, princess-cut diamond surrounded by an additional five carats of invisible set princess diamonds. The 32-inch necklace is draped with ice — four rows deep, 105 carats total weight — in 18 karat white gold. Carter agreed to pay monthly installments, the suit says. Sutton received a $24,000 check on Oct. 12. The next $24,000 check was dated Jan. 18. Sutton deposited it, only to learn a stop payment had been issued. Sutton says he tried to reach Carter, sending e-mails to the artist’s financial advisor. No luck.
”Defendant has breached his oral and written agreement. He spent a lot of money with me. I thought we have a really good relationship. I don’t know what happened, unless it’s a misunderstanding.”
Weezy know he better cough up the dough…when will these cats learn that people will slap a lawsuit on your ass at the drop of a hat. Hopefully he has a good financial advisor, and it’s not just the Birdman’s uncle or play cousin who’s good with numbers handling his money.

This doesn’t confirm that the jewelry we see him wear on the videos, at performances, etc are real. This only confirms that he did “attempt to buy some real ***** and couldn’t afford it.
Just to let you in, a lot of entertainers go to special jewelers and have high quality costume jewelry made with precious stones, moissanite [a really good fake diamond] and cubics set in white gold or rodium [family member to platinum, platinum is really heavy].

You’re right and not just the rappers. Singers, actors, athletes they all rent. Only a handful can actually afford to buy and my homie Oprah is one of them. SHE OWNS ALL OF HER JEWELRY.
My thoughts:
#1 – If the check was dated for Jan 18, i’m *****uming 1/28/08, why are you depositing the check now?? That may be the reason there was a stop payment – just like the man said “misunderstanding”.
#2 – If you have the money, like everone else is saying, just pay for it. That’s how they get you with all these payment plans because if you miss a payment, we all know they start calling wanting their money in full. Personally, if i was a jeweler and you came to buy something from me that costs as much as a house I would want all my money upfront before you leave the store! LOL! That’s just me.
#3 – If you don’t have the dough to buy the jewlery, don’t even window shop! Keep it movin’!

I’m aware that they want the celebs to wear their jewelry and so do the fashion designers. That’s why the hosts always ask “Who are you wearing?” It’s the best type of advertisement.
