Morrissey Says Homosexuality Would Help End World Wars
The Smiths were an 80′s alternative rock band who were known for their controversial social commentary with records that talked about genocide and (alleged) child sex abuse, so out-of-pocket comments like these are par for the course.

What political causes mattered most to you back then, and are they still important to you now?
War, I thought, was the most negative aspect of male heterosexuality. If more men were homosexual, there would be no wars, because homosexual men would never kill other men, whereas heterosexual men love killing other men. They even get medals for it. Women don’t go to war to kill other women. Wars and armies and nuclear weapons are essentially heterosexual hobbies.
What do you think of Morrissey’s little theory? He’s basically saying that homosexual men aren’t naturally built to handle war or serve their country. That idea is in complete opposition to the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell” and the equal rights movement currently taking place amongst gays in the U.S. Armed Forces.
