]]> By: BLACKFRANK http://bossip.com/73917/myron-rolle-the-future/comment-page-5/#comment-768989 Thu, 15 Jan 2009 07:59:13 +0000 http://bossip.com/?p=73917#comment-768989 Im tired of the under tone in this story and many other stories as if being a professional athlete is not a “real job” or worth even pursuing it irks me that you people are so far from reality that you dont realize or see that #1 the educational system that is supposed to be set up to help the young black man achieve “success”? is a failing sytem across the nation a public school education in the ghetto where most of the black young men you are refering to is the worst education you can get across the board #2 in football you have to keep at least a 2.0 and perform well on and off the field to play where as a regular student only has the responsibility of school so all the drunk/weed head/cocain snorting pill popping/meth making white kids with pensions have no real responsibility in college besides maintaning a 2.0 and just like some football players they dont make the grade either but it looks worse because its 200 or so white kids in a college class and if your lucky 10 black kids, it was 200/2 in some of my college classes. #3 football will teach discipline, focus, and it will expose you too friends and build life long relationships with men of many races where the average college student sticks to there own frat houses black student unions and drug groups and probably never sat at a table and broke bread with a person outside there racial boundaries ive bleed with my football brothers of all races and would go to war with them any day.#4 athletes/football players are the healthiest people on campus from routine physicals to spring practice, two a days, 3 hour practices everyday during the season, and weekend games while you lazy degree seekers do school,home, beer, and drugs we get tested and keep up with the scholars whos degree says the same thing as mine but ive traveled in college got championship rings and stayed healthier throughout those years. and last but not least #5 no one works harder than a professional athlete period. football season is a year round JOB in which your day starts at 7am with a team meeting which envolves taking notes on your assignment & studing tape that goes till 12pm your lunch is catered no of site roaming for an hour and no such thing as late “only high profile players do that and they get fined, hows 10,000 for taking to long at lunch trying to bone suzie most of you wouldnt last past mini camp with your irresponsible ass” so at 1 you got a walk through about an hour and practice starts at 2:30 or 3 and goes to about 5 or 5:30 then at 6 or 6:30 more meetings to watch your practice and play then your free with one day off a lousy tuesday? but all yall see is me going to the game in my cl500 making plays saying they get paid too much to play football or thats all black kids want to do is play football or rap well my question is when are you going to help us get qualified for anything else because we were breed like dogs in slavery and now we own sports so just like anything else a black man starts to be successful at ie. rap music its gets knocked as being the wrong way or bad????? with all do respect yall niggas need to wake up and make the best out of this world they brung us too with the little we took because whitey aint gave us shit and embrace the space we are in and move too change it rather than down play what we are good at and this new found wealth to help not hinder black america.
