Well, we’re witness to the first Black President of the United States, so at this point, anything is possible:
Spider-Man creator Stan Lee is to unveil the world’s first gay superhero. High school basketball star Thom Creed hides his developing superpowers along with his sexuality. Former Marvel Comics boss Stan, 86 — who also created the Hulk and the X-Men — will unleash the character in an hour-long TV drama being shot in the US. If it’s a hit there it will cross to the UK. TV execs hope it will rival the huge success of shows likes Heroes. Lee developed the idea of a gay character from the award-winning novel Hero by Perry Moore. A TV insider said: “It was only a matter of time before we had our first gay superhero. And if there is one man who can make him a success it is Stan Lee. “There’s a real buzz among comic book fans.”
If this jawn ever sees the light of day, we’re sure they’ll be quite a bit of commotion around it. However, we could think of a few Hollyweird cats that would be purrrrfect for the roll. But on the real: Is America ready for a homosexual super hero?

We know being gay has been going on for centuries but I agree that it’s gotten way out of control where it’s considered to be “trendy” now and the kids see too much of it because it’s all on tv. They have already had gay superheroes in other comics companies. Stan Lee is an ICON, and that is why he is claiming first. They like to act like the other companies don’t exist.
I don’t have a problem with people choosing to be gay, but I still think it’s unnatural. It is becoming too acceptable to be gay. God did not intend for the same sex to be together (romantically, sexually etc). I understand that gay people have feelings and I’m fine with that, I just wouldn’t want my child to be one.

Why bring sexuality into cartoons and comics in the first place? By bringing in this gay character, the focus is on who he’s sticking versus the plot. My kids don’t need anymore introduction to this lifestyle. I have nothing against gay people I just don’t want this message marketed to children.

As a father of two boys I don’t want my kids coming home and turning on the tv to see two men kissing, holding hands, or any other unnatural acts. I don’t have a problem with people being gay, but I do have a problem with it being pushed out into our society like its okay. Its like we are being forced to accept homosexuality.
I doubt that it last in the comic book world. If they can’t past gay marriage this has not chance. If this is a movie, I can see it going better because it a one time p***** of fail thing. With respect to Stan Lee because I’ve read his comics when I was a kid; he’s the type that wants to inject a lil’ bit of the real world into his fiction. So I guess from that aspect it’s just the evolution of a genre. This is being marketed to adults not children so that would be the reason for this mature angle of the character to be revealed. Since we are adults we all have the option to change the channel. Now in the real world that is where we don’t have the choice to see it or not, but on the real when I see a gay act in doesn’t offend me at all I’m like whatever and I keep it moving. Too many people are concerened with gay people bringing their lifestyle public, but the fact is that they are human and they can do whatever they want as long as they are not breaking any laws, that’s the reality of it.

When I was younger there were gay people but why so many now a days. Something is terribly wrong.

What you said has always been my argument as well. I see it as a slow drip in the process of ending life which is the greatest gift that God has given us. Two men and two women cannot make a child together and if everyone was gay then how would life continue. But I personally know people who partake in the gay/lesbian lifestyle but still feel within themselves that it is not something that needs to be pushed off on everyone or necessarily an accepted way of life. They do what they do and that is their business but it stops there. They aren’t looking for any recognition or sympathy. I just want to say that i am a supporter of Proposition 9. We too would like acceptance and would like to point out many of our partners have been action heroes for years. Proposition 9 which is being drafted is a motion so that any consenting adult male or female will have to right to have consensual sex with the animal of their choice. Domesticated or non-domesticated, it don’t matter. Why do heterosexual, bi-sexual and gay sex take all the media coverage? I prefer the company of my lover, Sadie the goat. We have been in a relationship now for 3 years and so far no problems. It is the best sex i ever had. We take walks together, take showers together and have dinner together. My female neighbour recently came out and confessed to me that she is in a relationship with her Dalmatian , Rex. Many of you have missed this connection, the villian Blofeld from James Bond always had cats and was constantly pettig them, Flipper the dolphin always had someone ride him and never let him out of captivity, Shrek and Donkey (Eddie in his finest performance) spent more time together than Shrek’s wife, Chewbacca and Hans Solo flying around in a *****eship together with no Princess Leia around and no one question Michael Jackson and Bubbles the Monkey which was his true romantic love. Look more closely at MJ’s face, he looks more like Bubbles as time p*****es. So I say to all those like me, stand up and be heard, come out of the yard and let the world know that an animal can be more than a pet.

I took this to mean that churches were not to preach about or get involved in politics. If you are a Christian,etc… you are supposed to support God’s word. None of us are perfect. God loves everyone but he hates sin and according to the bible homosexuality (just like fornication, lying, etc…) is a sin.
I just don’t understand how someone who is gay can say he or she has the right to be gay and that their lifestyle should be respected and not be respectful of someone’s decision to disapprove of it. Their rights and decisions should be respected but not anyone else’s unless they are okay with gays? That seems hypocritical to me.

The problem with everyone saying we shouldn’t be able to get married is that their reasoning is based off of religious beliefs. Therein lies the argument that not allowing gays to marry is unconstitutional…because it is.

And what is wrong with that? This country was founded on religious beliefs. This is precisely my point, why are religious people who oppose the gay lifestyle frowned upon when they are only upholding their beliefs? Gays might not like it, but really isn’t that THEIR problem? (Isn’t it just as politically correct to respect someone’s religious beliefs as it is to respect someone’s lifestyle?) “Religious” people should not be expected to change their way of thinking when casting a vote. If you were raised in a particular faith, that is who you are. As Christians the majority of us are taught that God created woman for man and created the institution of marriage for the purpose of reproduction. So gays believe that we should abandon what we have been taught just to pacify them? Be gay if you want to, but don’t dismiss what I have been taught as wrong because it does not condone your lifestyle. Once gays figure out how to get their points across without doing this, there will be more understanding and acceptance.

And what is wrong with that? This country was founded on religious beliefs. This is precisely my point, why are religious people who oppose the gay lifestyle frowned upon when they are only upholding their beliefs? Gays might not like it, but really isn’t that THEIR problem? (Isn’t it just as politically correct to respect someone’s religious beliefs as it is to respect someone’s lifestyle?) “Religious” people should not be expected to change their way of thinking when casting a vote. If you were raised in a particular faith, that is who you are. As Christians the majority of us are taught that God created woman for man and created the institution of marriage for the purpose of reproduction. So gays believe that we should abandon what we have been taught just to pacify them? Be gay if you want to, but don’t dismiss what I have been taught as wrong because it does not condone your lifestyle. Once gays figure out how to get their points across without doing this, there will be more understanding and acceptance.
