I think it’s funny that when Dominican and Puerto Ricans deny their blackness we jump down their throats. While we claim to be proud of being black, many of us certainly don’t like to look “black” . Everytime Bossip has a pic up of a darker-skinned black woman or one with natural hair, all I hear are remarks about how unattractive she is, how her hair is nappy/kinky, how she looks like a (choose one) man/monkey or she’s (insert one) hard/ugly/dirty. However, a pic of Beyonce or any one of her clones causes black folks to trip over themselves with compliments of how beautiful they are. So, if Dominicans and PRs are guilty of self-hate, then we are not far behind in the line. Although we are proud of our blackness, we prefer to look like as mixed/european as possible. And I’d lose fingers if I had to count the number of negros who have “a lil’ Indian’ in their family. Black people like their black watered down. Dominicans and PRs like to pretend there’s no blackness in them at all. We’re all victims of the machine.

Why listen to the star magazine as a source of information, especially from Bossip.

Diddy and J lo have been over for a long time. She dropped his ass like a bad habit after that gun charge and I don’t blame her. She didn’t want a rap sheet and all of that drama.

I do believe that Marc Anthony is a tyrant. Maybe J lo is drawn to those kind of men. Diddy certainly is an abusive, controlling, mean, tyrant.

Seems to me Jennifer’s plan to regain the spotlight is working as planned. At this point, she is starting to saturate the blogs, media websites, tabloid magazines et al. The mention of she and Puffy gets the media and public alike in a frenzy. Imagine the publicity she would generate if Ben was single and free. Never put anything past a Leo. Madonna, Tom Cruise.

Quite frankly I don’t know if it’s true but if it is who cares. People keep saying if she wants attention get back with diddy dumb dumb but it’s not the year 2000 anymore even if they should hook up they’re both old. Nobody cares anymore. I mean even the lame Golden Globes gown, that was one of the most desparate pathetic attempts to try to reclaim some sort of former glory I’ve ever seen. Except now she’s pushing 40 with her back fat on display. You know in the fame game people move on. When you look at all the other power couples whether she’s with p. or Anthony they’re still has beens. Excpet now there are kids in the middle of thier nonsense, oh well. These people are in their 40′s all this money and they are still screw ups.

Dominican and Puerto Rican people come up to me speaking Spanish because they think that I am either Dominican or Puerto Rican, when I am a light-skinned African-American woman. I like that term best because just saying Black doesn’t denote what I am. Dominicans are Dominicans and Puerto Ricans are Puerto Ricans and some of them are dark-skinned. Black people are from all over the planet and not all of them are African American, in fact, we are small in number compared to most Black people. When Africans come over here they form their own communities because they have that in common. I recently read an article about African priest who administer to Catholics in their parishes, but they do not understand African American culture, why would they? Our experience is our own and unique to us. Just like the Dominicans culture is unique to them. They are mixed and Black in color but that doesn’t explain who they are, their culture and place for example, and why should it. Except for complexion I have nothing in common with them and that’s fine, nothing wrong with that. Did you know that the Aborigines of Australia refer to themselves as Black? I have nothing in common with them either and most of them are very dark. Black people can and are from everywhere, but we have different categories, right?
