I agree with you and I happen to be one of those people who doesn’t like to hear excuses from anyone. I happen to be a black female republican (rare I know) so my views on everyone being responsible for their own demise are very very strong. But, I can’t ignore the fact that things that happen in the past do have a subconscious effect on events now. I strongly believe that blacks have been traumatized by racially divisive events from our past and have not had the adequate therapy to recover. Similar to an accident victim who is experiencing post traumatic stress but everyone is telling them to just get over it. Although this has nothing to do with the subject matter in this post, it is an important point to make based off what Sydney said earlier.

I agree. There are men who oppose marriage. They have different women who they sleep with on a regualr basis and claim that they are “Just Friends”. Why buy the whole cow when you can get the milk for free.

Causual sex is running rampant. Why would a man chose to settle down when he has his choice of women and can have the pleasure of a women without the committment?

Some women do not want to forfeit bearing children because the lack of available men.

My sister is 43 years old. She has a college education with no children. She has never been married. She is very attractive with a nice shape. It is difficult to find a decent black man. I know as her biological clock is ticking she is saddened by the harsh reality that she may never have a child.

Some women don’t want to take that risk and decide to have children before it is too late. A woman’s eggs start decreasing after 35.

I went to bootcamp in Illinois about nine years ago and it was the most miserable experience of my life. It was Spring but felt like the end of Fall. Rained all the time.
