I must say next year is going to be an exciting year for the election. I think both Hilary and Barack are trying there best and if either one is elected as President I think the American people awill be in better hands than they are now. I'm just happy to know that our current President doesn't have much time left in office and his eight years are almost up. I'm not knocking down but it's time for a fresh new start for the AMerican people.

"Laughing my ass off @ these silly black people jumping on the Barack bandwagon.

It’s cool that you guys are willing to vote, but don’t lie to yourselves and claim that man can make a change."

It's really sad to me that anyone would have this attitude. IF your'e not going to vote for Obama do it because you dont' think he's the best candidate. Don't vote for someone you know is corrupt just because you're too disillusioned to believe a good person can actually be significant. Whoever wrote this quote comes across as really dead on the inside.

If a good person can't effect change in the white house then where?

How many of you have actually taken the time to read at least one of Barack's books? Or heard him speak in person?

He is an intelligent and charismatic man who has moved many people and gotten them to take action. Personally, he's restored my faith that this nation's probelms can be fixed. And unlike everyone else who is out there running for office, he's not claiming that he can do it all by himself. He's calling out all of us to take action and reclaim our country. Its easy enough to blame others for the state of our nation because they are our "leaders", but when you have someone who is willing to bring everyone together rather than divide us into political or socio-economic groups, then that's someone I can put my faith and trust in.

No one should be voting for Obama because of his race - and he's the first to tell you that. But if its his race that makes you take notice of him - what's the harm?

Just educate yourselves on your candidates, issues, and platforms before making a decision. What I admire about Obama is the fact that he's the first to admit that he doesn't know everything (who the hell does?) and that he will make mistakes. But he's man enough to own up to them and take the appropriate course of action to fix it when he does.

And about the McClurkin issue. Obama has come out and said that he absolutely doesn't agree with McClurkin on the gay issue. [How many of us can honestly say we agree with 100% of the things our friends/associates do? We all have differences, but we do have to learn to respect those.] Honestly, Obama needs the support of McClurkin's audience - plain and simple.

And when it comes to experience, Obama has plenty of it - just not at the national level that many expect. Don't forget he served the government at the state level before the federal level. Plus all of the community work he did in Chicago that everyone seems to want to discount.

So, enough with the Obama bashing. If he's not the candidate for you, fine. But there really is no need to try to tear him down or belittle him to those of us who support him, so you can justify your position. We've had enough negativity and in-fighting over politics and who the best person is to run our country; take yours somewhere else.

We talk a lot about voting for the candidate with the best platform, but at the end of the day I would say that 85 % of the people who vote, vote for the candidate that they like. The one that is more personable. The one that looks like them, or talks like them or whatever. Even though I'm pretty sure that Hillary was the brains behind Clinton, I just don't like her. Obama is charismatic, but I don't think the Democrats are ready for a Black man to be the face of their party. I am certain that the old white men with money will not allow a woman or a Black to be the next president of the US.

Bill Clinton is the closest thing we had to a black president. hillary better chose Obama as her vice - i don't trust Edwards or the rest of them. Bill can train/teach Obama while hillary takes the spotlight. This next election will determine the future of America for years to come. If the world stage sees us elect another Republican, especially after all the Constitutional law breaking & sexual police busts, we will not be able to come back from the dark side. We got congress now we just need the big house. Help everyone you know and get them to register to vote NOW before the storm begins.

Let's be realistic...

The last time a first term Senator won the presidency, it was a man known by the name of Lincoln. It is possible but not likely. I believe in the hope of Obama. I think that Hillary is deservedly the best female candidate for the job. But middle America, the ones who feel that voting is their "God Given Blood Right," the ones who wheel old folks from the nursing homes to the voting booths - they will not allow Obama or Hillary to win.

The Red has taken a way (out right stole) election rights. People who've been to jail can't vote. Bush straight stole Florida from Gore and the Democrats did nothing. I'm disgusted by both sides, but if I have to lean -- I lean blue; and I lean Obama because I need hope.

As an educated Black woman in America I know that no one can clean up in 4 years the mess that Bush has made. Our foreign policy is in shambles, we owe money to Saudi Arabia, China, and others; Iraq is a disaster and we are in a recession. China is rising economically, building factories in Africa - we pay no attention. If it weren't for the lack of child labor laws in China there would be no Wal-Mart.

Not one term, hell not even 3 presidential terms will fix what Bush has broke.

We watched people drown in their homes for 5 days on CNN before Bush even gave them water. He tapped our phones. Appointed idiots to key positions in government. (How many people have resigned now under his 'presidency'?)

And has anyone noticed how the country weather wise has fallen to s***. Fires in California, floods in Chicago, tornadoes in Alabama, Atlanta's almost out of water -- its all too much.

If Obama wins the nomination, his only safety net will be to appoint Richardson as his VP. No one will assassinate the black man if it means the Mexican will be pres. If Hillary wins she better appoint Obama -- that's the strongest Dem ticket. The promise of Bill returning in the shadows of Hillary gives us hope.
