Not every gay man is a drag queen and not every lesbian is into butch drag. And contrary to popular belief, not every heterosexual woman embodies a feminine ideal either. And, yeah, even some heterosexual men can appear a little “suspect,” as some like to term it.

What’s normal anyway? In this world there are feminine women and butch women and every gradation in between. Some are thin. Some are curvy, while others are fat. Should the fat ones become curvy or the curvy ones become thin in order to conform to what is normal? And where do we draw the line on too masculine for women? Is Wanda Sykes too masculine or is Alicia Keys not feminine enough?

What about the strapping and masculine guys who also happen to be gay? Are they fronting? Should they make themselves a little more obviously gay? And how about the slight vaguely feminine guys who happen to be among the most persistent skirt-chasers on the planet? Should they, in turn, be required to butch it up?

Thing is, ordinary folks come in a variety of combinations, not all of them to your liking. Unfortunately, many cannot or will not conform to your narrow standards of what a normal human being ought to be.
